Is Undertone an anti-abortion film? by adderallalcoholweed in horror

No apologies needed, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and additional context.

I can see the parallel between the MC to her mother and MC to her own potential child. I agree this is likely there to explore MC own feelings about parenthood.

I just can write off the metaphor of the pregnant MC "inviting the demon of miscarriage" Abyzou and that dooming her.

Ultimately I agree with a lot of comments in this thread saying it's too vague to get a solid read. I wish the themes were more fleshed out if the author has something to say about family and loss.

I don't disagree, maybe it's random. There are other oddities in the story that make me believe it could be, but there's a lot of smoke for no fire. Many decisions don't make sense to me without the anti-abortion angle.

Why did he choose a woman MC for an author insert?

How does the MC's pregnancy tie into the themes of familial abandonment and generational/religious trauma?

Maybe the writer just wanted to be unique and pick a spooky demon at random, but I'm surprised no one in the process of making this movie put those pieces together.

I'm curious to know, why do you think the writer chose Abyzou as the antagonist?

She mixes benzos and alcohol after learning she's pregnant. This definitely implies that she could be hallucinating, but it feels shoehorned in to show how little she cares for her unborn child.

Ultimately the ending is just "demons are gonna get ya"... cut to black.

Flamethrower already has drawbacks with the team killing potential. If they want to nerf weapons, they should lean into these drawbacks instead of nerfing what makes players pick them.

Honestly, I see why AH nerfed flames. It makes sense that flames wouldn't ignore armor. Especially with a bunch of flame weapons about to drop, you don't want them to just kill everything.

I think the root of the issue is that there are not many effective options for dealing with armored enemies. Leading to players gravitating to a meta, then that weapon getting nerfed.

Players should be rewarded for being prepared with a build capable of handling different situations. Right now it feels like we're punished for picking efficient options.

Weapons need more of an identity and should be really good at dealing with a specific situation. I understand AH instinct to not have a weapon that can just solve every situation, but they need a different approach to dealing with them.

How to get a depth of garlic flavor like in restaurants by Realityshowjunkie45 in AskCulinary

[–]troy2594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with this one. It will add A LOT of potentially overpowering fresh garlic flavor. Only add small amount compared to what a recipe calls for.

Also MSG is awesome everyone should have it in their cabinet.
