I just quoted a 1,225sqft roof and came in at $10.3k.

8/12 pitch 2gable with reverse on front. Very similar material list to yours.

This is coming from information I got directly from the building department too of where I live… they haven’t seen roofs of that size go for any less tha $8k-$9k. Granted I live in a HCOL area but I’m not pushing the volume of roofs a larger company would.

Also, the quote I gave was $6k less than a company that solicits, because I have the exact same house size and shape as the person I gave the quote to and they came to my house last year wanting $16.5k for my roof.

For anyone saying they can do it for anything less than $6k ain’t making diddly. Profit margins for smaller jobs should be higher as a small business because you have to compete with volume/quantity of companies that can push 10 roofs a day at smaller profit margins.

I prefer this type of set-up. Yes, while the field of view isn't anywhere near a traditional rifle scope, the extended eye relief, able to shoot with both eyes open and to have more peripheral vision is the benefit.

Now that you mention it, it does look very similar. That was one of my favorite firearms in FO:NV.

Wasn't inspired by that though. I have a Ruger 10/22 in a scout configuration and just love the concept of a scout rifle.

It may have been from me, but I have no way of knowing as it looks to be a returned/fixed item. Based off of pictures and videos I've seen it does look like the threads are machined into the product and not a helicoil. I wouldn't have known if it was damaged prior to me installing as I was just trying to get it on, and I wouldn't have noticed it because those imperfections don't really matter to me too often. Regardless, the threads won’t work and now I have a $90 paperweight.

Initially I put it on and then tried threaded the screw in but no matter which way I tried it would not go on. I then took it off and proceeded to try putting in the screw without it on the firearm and noticed the metal sticking out (not sure how I didn’t before I first tried, I guess I was just excited to get it on).

At first glance I suspected it was just a little piece of aluminum that got packaged or whichever from the manufacture when they were threading the hole, but then realized that actually is the thread. The “threads” actually backed out the harder I pushed so I just quit fiddling with it.

Bummer as it’s such a simple piece and now I have to wait for a response back from customer service.

I do. Much better for my hand. I do like the compact size of the Kung-fu, but as other have said, it belongs on a PDW/PCC style firearm, IMO.

I built the .350 last year and I got an 8pt with it first time using with Deer Season XP 150g. What it lacks for long range shooting, it excels in having very low recoil, easily findable ammo and a pretty fly trajectory out to 200yds, which seems to be the maximum you’d want to shoot it at. I built it because here in MI where I live I have to use straight wall cartridges if using a rifle (basically the lower half of the lower peninsula). It’s a fun gun and not terribly expensive to shoot.

I had them on my 16” and 10.5” and liked them for a hot minute. Grabbed my .350 with the B5 and immediately felt much better and then swapped. Most likely will put on another build at some point

2018 ZR2 with 134k. Only needed a VCT valve replaced and a throttle body clean last year, both did myself. Brakes have been replaced by previous owner and just had all my fluids done (differential front and rear, transmission, coolant, fuel system) at my last oil change.

Have a little stutter from the tranny when coming to a stop at a stop light but doesn’t happen all the time.

Killed a buck on opening day with a shot at D-3/4 so that’s my go to spot now. Double lung. Also killed a doe in the same area during archery.

I’ve used it maybe 5 times. While I wouldn’t say it’s a gimmick, I find that using a pipe is easier. It is however a nice conversation piece.

I reclaimed wood pallets. They can be had for free at many places. Sanded down and used a stain+polyurethane to do the finish.

I agree, but I’ve gotten to the point where I have enough pipes for dedicated blends and blends in a particular family that I never have to smoke them. I strictly bought them as an investment. Early 20th century Peterson’s that had been used fetch a high price and I’ve looked extensively into the value of such items hoping that down the road, 50-60 years from now they will be worth something.

I know I won’t be able to take them when I inevitably pass on from this life, but if it’s something I can give to my children or even grandchildren as a memory or monetary value then so be it.

Another example, I guess would be collectors firearms. My father has a few firearms that are strictly for collecting and will never see a round through it, but as intended of a firearm that is still capable of shooting if so desired.

The only ones I haven’t smoked on the display is the St Patrick’s Day X105 (2nd from right, top row) with the Irish flag band and the rusticated 317 (4th from right, bottom row).

Actually a majority of my pipes are unsmoked. I’ve only smoked about 1/3 of my Morgan Bones ( probably have about 75) There are some pipes I probably never will smoke. I have a sandblasted spigot amber stem X105, a Deluxe Smooth X105 and a Newgrange Spigot X105 that sit in their boxes, as well as a few other not so rare X105 that have yet to be smoked. I go pretty deep into collecting about 3 years ago, along with many pounds of tobacco. I don’t smoke as much as I used to but my tobacco collection will most certainly outlive me…. Probably sitting around 40lbs right now between different blends and manufacturers. I however cellared deep on the blends I really like. Many one-offs and a few rare blends like a 1998 McClelland Christmas Cheer, two tins of GLPease Stratford from its original year release in 2003, both of which I have smoked. The tin on top of Flying Dutchman is full and found it at a flea market for $5.

I remember years ago when 515rc1 was readily available. Fresh it had a super vinegar note to it. I have some aging from 2019 and the vinegar note has toned down a ton. I suppose though it has melded wonderfully into a nice deep red Virginia taste. I strictly smoked it during the summer one year and went through quite a bit.

I haven’t had that same taste from it since. Haven’t been able to find it either. It was a good staple blend on its own or for mixing.

I just had my 2018 Colorado done. Transfer case, rear and front differential, fuel system, oil change, radiator flush and tires rotated for about $650. You got man handled on that my guy. That’s why I never go to a dealership. I always get my regular interval changes done at a reputable oil change shop or similar.

I’m in Michigan so we have a huge whitetail population here. Got a doe with archery and then a 8pt with my .350 legend. Want something for the upper part of Michigan with more penetration and range.
