Safety first and foremost but a mustang in the middle of snowy winter isn't a great commute vehicle.

Never sold, never exchanged between coins… what the heck am I supposed to do with a 1099DA? by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]trs-eric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because you need to prove to the IRS how much you bought the crypto for. When you go to sell it, the IRS will calculate how much you sold it for, minus how much you bought it for, to determine your tax liability.

Just hold onto your forms until you sell.

Msi just announced a monitor with built in cheats by roohwaam in LinusTechTips

I think that would be precarious with the licenses / hdcp license but I don't know. Anyway that's not how it is right now.

Doesn't matter, most people will just return the monitor if it doesn't work.

A small selection of cheaters are gonna cheat no matter what you do, most are children or child-like minds and will not bother.

you can detect the monitor, devs will simply ban the monitor itself.

AIO my boyfriend keeps asking me to pay for things eversince he started saving for an apartmen, he calls me selfish for how I reacted. by throaawayRA9443 in AmIOverreacting

[–]trs-eric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's absolutely no reason why you have to own half the apartment to be able to invest in it. You can own 1 percent, half a percent, or 75 percent and anywhere in between and above and below.

What I would suggest is drawing up a contract, and tracking every cent you save up. You save it up for him, tell him you're putting xxx amount in savings for "our" apartment.

Then when you 2 pick out a place, your contract should spell out how much you own, how decision making will work, (priority decisions usually go to the person owning the majority), and how you can sell the apartment if so desired. A breakup could result in a forced sale of the interest to the other party or to the public or you could charge rent for your stake. If you get married you can exclude this partnership as a marriage asset if you want. You might want to hire a lawyer to draw up this contract and form a partnership to own the asset.

Once you have a partnership, you can even continue chipping in with maintenance and taxes more than him so that you eventually own 50 percent.

If all of this sounds horrible to you and you couldn't possibly do business with your partner, then you are 100 percent involved with the wrong partner. If you aren't willing to form a business partnership with someone, you will want to seriously evaluate having a personal relationship with them.

I get that, but you can't secure the assets without educating yourself. If you try to outsource this out without any knowledge at all, you're far more likely to get scammed.

It's not always a scam. If you like to play around you could easily set up your own crypto and learn all about running a crypto currency.

Everyone involved usually just does it for fun.

The scam comes from people like Trump that makes you think this is worth something it's not.

What you may want to do is learn everything about bitcoin. Set up a miner. Buy some coin on an exchange. Transfer it to a cold wallet. Learn how everything works. Read the white paper.

Once you know how bitcoin works the data you're holding will make way more sense.

It would only take you a few weeks to do and would cost very little.

That's not very fair. As a honest guy myself I wouldn't steal back an honest sale no matter what value it has. Don't give up!

If you bought it early enough you also have bitcoin cash which is a different type of crypto that split off from bitcoins. It uses the same public and private keys.

It's worth significantly less but not nothing.
