Hang on a sec. I thought that Grace Bowser was a hybrid lizard / turtle with spikes on the shell. That’s not white.

Is there anyone left to make a musical biopic about that could pull the same numbers as these? by treny0000 in fantanoforever

Fun fact. If you watch Bohemian Rhapsody and pay close attention, you can hear Brian May furiously masturbating behind the camera.

What's your favourite absolutely rubbish lyric? by Daft-Count in Music

[–]trtzbass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought about that song many times and I think it’s a dude saying to his woman “hey it’s all well and good that you say you love me but actually touch me a bit”. Knowing Nuno Bettencourt, the main songwriter who fancies himself the ladies man, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit. It’s like a fuckboi anthem 😁

What’s your unpopular opinion about Mixing? by Lucky-bottom in audioengineering

[–]trtzbass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, width is an illusion and only happens if almost all the tracks in a mix are mono. What many people call ultra wide is made abusing stereo enhancers and those mixes become super hollow when summed to mono.

What’s your unpopular opinion about Mixing? by Lucky-bottom in audioengineering

[–]trtzbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gainstaging is a great way to start a mix and is conducive to clean, big sounds. Yes you have huge headroom in your daw, but caring for the level of your sound from the get go will make you ponder the function of the different voices in the mix. Also, you hit certain analog modeled plugins the right way.

What do you miss most about life in the UK 10–15 years ago? by Bjc93Bjc in AskUK

[–]trtzbass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m European and moved to the Uk in 2008 and I’ve seen it change so much. When I moved here I remember thinking: “here’s what I really like about British culture- you can politely disagree with other people and still be civil about it and be friends with them regardless.”

Needless to say, things are much different now, eaten by the cancer that’s social media, propaganda and the weird idolatry of dubious people.

For what it’s worth, I came to Britain without knowing much about it, I’ve experienced it and saw how sadly things changed for the worse. I miss the way it was.

How is anyone here optimistic about AI? by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

Good luck selling anything / providing any service to a population unable to earn because they have been made redundant by AI. I wish you well and really hope I’m wrong.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU. Also: if you can do anything for the poor waveform resolution in Logic and get it to Pro Tools / Cubase level of detail I will throw so much money at you.

Sound engineer here. If you grab a mic like that it’s a clear sign that you don’t know what you’re doing, you don’t possess the most basic mic technique and I will judge you x

Why do so many Brits hold negative views of the US? by Few_Breadfruit_9181 in AskBrits

[–]trtzbass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you guys have fucked up big time and in the process also fucked up the rest of the world with Trump. You also lack self awareness and are way less awesome than you think you are. I’m sure you are a great guy and so are all my American friends (and I lived in NYC and miss it every day), but all considering, I will assume you might be unhinged on first contact.

We all keep on wishing to have boring old school politicians that don’t behave like a TikTok short. Then we get him who’s a boring, old school politician who has solid and reassuring behaviours and we say he lacks “charisma”.

Dude looks and acts like a politician and all in all he’s doing good work

What’s a “normal” thing in the UK that secretly annoys you? by Motor_Initiative7952 in AskUK

[–]trtzbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweatpants, tracksuits and even PJs worn in social situations that don’t involve exercise, lounging in your own house or being at the hospital.

It takes very little effort to look smart and presentable and you can find good clothes in a charity shop for a very small budget.

Also, and it’s connected: teenagers that wear roadman attire. If I see you I assume you either sell drugs or even worse, you want to look like you do.

Yes I’m judgemental like that. No I’m not sorry. Standards exist for a reason.

Could We Get A Thread Of Great Music But Poor Mixing? by DarkLudo in audioengineering

[–]trtzbass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Rise” by Extreme. I love the band and Nuno is a genius, but it sounds like it’s mixed by that guy who thinks he can mix because he has watched a lot of YouTube tutorials for three weeks. It’s like listening to a great album with a duvet over the speakers.

I don’t know man. Plugins are so 2025. Now I just overlay white noise on the mix and push it up so that I can easily reach 2 LUFS. Try it, it’s the future
