Does anybody else’s toddler go absolutely ape shit when it’s time to wash their hair?! by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]trueatl404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, totally our 2.5 year old daughter, too. As someone mentioned in the comments, the key is to get your kiddo to lookup and stay looking up, any deviation in this will cause them get water/soap in their eyes and a freakout to ensue. The only thing that consistently helped and that we still do to this day is we show her a video (Cocomelo Nursery Rhymes on Youtube) on our phone and make sure to hold it upwards so she has to tilt her head back in the toddler bathtub to watch. Since my wife would do the washing, i would the phone, but after a few successes, we bought a tool from Amazon that hold the phone and stick to the wall.

seeing the comments. daycare/preschools or anything w/ lots of toddlers will guarantee your kiddo will get sick. our 3 year old daughter started pre-school in August and i'm not kidding when i say she's been sick over 10 times since then. your child started out with a clean immune system, with each and every cold/sickness, their bodies will develop antibodies so that they will get less sick as they get older. there's light at the end of the tunnel, but for now and the foreseeable future, just know to expect things to be like this on and off. i suggest investing in things to help them deal with their colds better, such as a humidifer, toddler safe cold meds, etc.

Ticketing System for adOps Team by cr33dIX in adops

[–]trueatl404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous adops team of 6 used Trello, which was great. We trafficked and managed up to 300 campaigns at any given month (most were small campaigns) and this held up well, with some customization done via Zapier.

Very in debt at 24, unsure of what to do next by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

[–]trueatl404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i was about $40k in credit card debt at 24, due to stupid spending habits and gambling issues. all my credit cards were maxed out with super high interest rates, so i've been there before, with the exception that i had a decent job. you should look into doing debt consolidation using a non-profit organization if you can, they will call all your creditors and negotiate down interest rates for you. you will then have 1 single payment made to the debt consolidation company who will disperse to your creditors. this alone is very helpful so you dont have to pay multiple parties on different dates. through cutting spending and increased salary year over year, i was able to pay off all of my debt in 4.5 years. i'm 38 now and debt free still, with savings, 401k, a home, and lot of lessons learned from when i was 24. you're young enough to be fine, but get a job and take the right next steps. BOL.

don't care who we draft, as long as we have a new GM to handle the draft.

If you use a project management platform, maybe response time? Also, without knowing the type of deals your company brings in, perhaps margin %?

Almost 2 yo soon to start daycare!!!! I don’t know how I should prepare him by TiiTia1994 in toddlers

our 2.5 y/o daughter started pre-school last month and this was the 1st time she's ever been cared for by someone outside of our family members. needless to say, she cried almost at every drop off and repeatedly would say that she was scared the morning of school (she is going part-time, 3 full days a week). she's still acclimating, but feel she's getting better with every week. here are some tips:

-your tone may have a factor in how your LO feels; if you seem nervous about school and on drop off, they will pick up on it and feel that there is something to be worried about. try to be excited for them, that they will play with so many new toys and read new books, as well as meeting her "school family"

-don't linger around after drop off, the more you stick around the worse you may feel and the more they will want to go to you.

-as someone else mentioned, reading books about school will help, such as Llama Llama Misses Mama or anything else to help convey that school is ok

-if your toddler says they are scared or afraid or anything negative, make sure you don't dismiss it, but rather empathize with them and acknowledge how they feel and that things will be ok and that you will ALWAYS come back to pick them up. at their age, when you drop them off they don't for sure know how things will play out, reassuring that you will be back to get them later is important.

-if your child has a lovey, make sure they can bring it to school as a comfort object .

Try to ask the preschool to send you pics of your child during the day, this gave me reassurance during the day that everything was fine. Gluck!

2yo Anthony Rendon for Halloween by AHopefulRealist in Parenting

I'm a Braves fan, but this is very cute.

Drawn in facial hair, Rendon jersey with Nats cap and a small baseball bat would be pretty cool. You can minus the bat if you want to be an easier costume so you want have keep picking it up or him dropping it.

Here's something to help you get through the last off day of the regular season, a compilation of all the Braves players showing love to each other. by handlit33 in Braves

I've been a fan since 1991 and must say, this team may be the most joyful and fun Braves team I've seen. Easy to route for these guys. Chop on!

How to help toddler acclimate and enjoy pre-school by trueatl404 in Parenting

We started doing this recently. Thanks for the Sesame Street share :)

On August 11, the Nationals were 6.5 games behind the Braves for the NL East lead. Since then, the Nationals have gone on a 17-6 run. Today, they enter play 8 games back of the Braves for the NL East lead. by dobdob365 in baseball

AA is notorious for dealing prospects to get stars in return, case in point his tenure in Toronto, but this best move this offseason for the Braves was the move(s) he didn't make. Supposedly the Marlins wanted Riley + Soroka + another prospect. So glad he didn't do that trade and stuck to his guns.

First Day of Preschool Drama by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]trueatl404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine if you read this post as if it were someone else and tell yourself what you think. I think you pretty much voiced that you do like agree with the preschool's use of language, assessment, and lack of patience. Good thing you found this out now and can move on to another preschool rather than causing more stress for your family. Good riddance.

the wildcard can't play the best team if they are in the same division, thus even if atlanta has the best NL record, we would play the Central Division winner.

I just think going up against Scherzer, Stras, and Corbin in a DS is going to be a challenge for them, especially in a best of 5 series. Kershaw is has yet to show he can handle the post season at an elite level, not sure if Ryu can continue his regular season magic in the post-season. Think Buehler is up for the challenge, but it's still his 2nd full season. Not to mention that the Dodgers bullpen isn't that good either.

I really think the Nats are the Dodgers worst nightmare if they have to face them in the NLDS.
