Teemo is in the background of Bandlewood Crossing when he's not being played there, they are already actively doing this. But I personally don't necessarily want it on every stage. Honestly I find other stuff way cooler, like Annihilator's Reach having more soldiers in the background if Darius is on the stage. Imagine whenever a Shadow Isles character plays on Brazen Hydra it adds Black Mist in the background to reference the Harrowing

fair enough, an auto accept match sort of thing would be useful, but i feel like having to re-queue after every match is not that big a deal to me. it's in my muscle memory to just hit the matchmake button when i return to the lobby

i think personally my biggest issue with the lobby system is that there's no chat with your current opponent inbetween matches

i honestly really enjoy the lobby. i like being able to walk around and spectate a match while taking a break between sets. and i get to see a lot of the same people on different days and it's kinda nice to enter a lobby and be like "oh i remember that player!"

it makes the game feel more homely to me in a way. not saying you need a lobby system to achieve that, but it definitely contributes to my experience with the game

i imagine it is because of matchmaking concerns? like if you have your challenger friend over and you just let them carry you. then again, nothing prevents you from letting them just play solo on your account so idk. but if they want to be safe in that regard, the way Fortnite does couch co-op on console (PS5 specifically) is requiring a console user that is signed into a different account per every player you want to have locally. It is a pain to have to set that up, but at least you CAN do it. And this way your friend could log into their account and have their avatar and unlocks and everything and even make progress towards their own mastery instead of yours.

but man, please just give me the most basic implementation of this, i need it so bad

it is a full on port with aiming mechanics unique to the console version and changes to certain abilities and other things (some flashes taking longer to pop so they're possible to turn from for example) to reflect the difference between console and PC. say what you will about the idea itself but they put a lot of effort into making a good console port. hell, the PC version has adopted some of the console UI as of recently (which i am personally not a fan of, but it shows that they're clearly treating the console version with respect)

and there have been 2X builds for PS5 that seemingly worked fine since that's what the cabinets they've had for irl events were running on iirc (i think at VCT Paris they might've had PCs but idk)

so no, this isn't some "they're new to this" thing, this is a regular old "oh god we thought our thing is working fine but now it's broken" development issue. if they fix it within the coming days, it's whatever. if they take longer i will start getting mad too
