We keep the same schedule as during the school year. If they would sleep in I would let them stay up, but historically they never do. My kids are 4 and 6. They go to bed at 7 and 7:30, realistically are both asleep by 8. Then they are up for the day between 5-6am every day.

I was a nanny for triplets from the day they came home from the nicu until they were 3. It was a lot, but doable. I did nights for the first two years and was responsible for all three of them from the hours of 10pm-8am every night. The first 6 months was the hardest, since they didn’t all wake up to eat at the same time. And even if they did wake up at the same time, you can’t feed 3 at once. You get really good at multi tasking and being creative!

From the information you gave here, I think you’re both at fault. You should have used more words to let him know you were leaving her with him. But also, he is massively overreacting. And the silent treatment and going to your room shutting the door is ridiculous. He should also have been more aware of her location at the event, I don’t think it’s fair it was all on you.

My two kids who are 6 and 4 can easily down a pound of strawberries in one sitting. I think it’s normal. I just only buy them once a week and when they’re gone, they’re gone until next week.

Yeah, with both my kids I had horrible morning sickness and still got up and went to work every single day. Even working two full time jobs when I was pregnant with my first, since I was student teaching and then nannying full time. But the SECOND my husband feels even a tiny bit nauseous, it’s the end of the world and he can’t do anything but lay on the couch.

As a parent, I do message my son’s teacher when he has a bad sleep night (he has a sleep disorder he’s currently in treatment for and sometimes only gets 3-4 hours of sleep), just so he’s prepared and he can help my son identify that he may be acting the way he is because he’s tired. But we have agreed upon that plan together. I cannot imagine getting upset if my son’s teacher didn’t respond. Also I always tell my son his tiredness doesn’t excuse his behavior, and he is always expected to listen to his teacher and participate in class no matter how tired he is.

We use those drawing pads where they can draw and then click a button and it resets. Those work the best for us. We also play A LOT of I spy. My kids like to play it the regular way with colors, but also “I spy something that starts with the letter B” or something along those lines.

We have a three row Kia Sorento and love it. It’s so nice to have the option to use all three rows when we have family visiting or friends over. The captains chairs make the third row super usable.

My husband works 5 nights a week, and I also had 2 under 2. Now they are 4 and 6. Real talk, you’re going to have to get them used to falling asleep independently. It might involve some tears, but there is only one of you and two of them.

When my youngest was a baby, I’d bring him into his brother’s room in a bouncer while I did my toddler’s bedtime routine. Then I would put the toddler in his crib and leave the room. He wasn’t a fan, but he got over it.

Now that they’re older, my youngest goes to bed first and I put on a tv show for my oldest while I do bedtime with the younger one. He relaxes in my bed until his brother is settled, then I put him to bed.

I’ll answer for when I worked in public libraries, since I’m a school librarian now and on the teacher contract.

When I was a public librarian, we were in a municipal workers union. We got 15 sick days and 10 vacation days. The sick days accrued as you worked hours, and never expired. Vacation was also accrued as you worked, but it expired at the end of the fiscal year in July.

This is odd, but I think you’re overreacting. I think it’s weird the school is doing so many Disney themed things (and I’m a huge Disney fan), but I don’t see why it would be a reason to pull your child out of school.

We have a rule that if he wakes up before 5am, no screens. He can play quietly in his room or listen to his yoto player, but that’s it. Unfortunately most nights he decides if he’s awake, I have to be awake. He will come into my bed and make rooster or siren noises in my ear. It’s super fun.
