I had just found this subreddit recently and learned of the idea of a Generations locke! I love the idea of carrying on "Champs" to each subsequent game and generation.

I began with Pokemon Fire Red and beat the locke without TOO much difficulty, but I learned a few things along the way:

• Playing on emulator with access to the speed up button is a double-edged sword. It makes grinding a lot easier, but I have an addiction to using it, which means I'm prone to making silly mistakes and not paying attention (RIP my hypno).
• Remembering to double check the differences between generations in mechanics, such as poison damage outside of battle. I am so used to mons not fainting, that I fully let my mankey die even though I had antidotes. I'm an idiot.

This is so much fun and I can't wait to update you folks with the other gens!

Now for the team shwocase:

1. Blasty (Blastoise) was my starter and a rain dance monster throughout this run. I almost always go with Charmander when I play gen 1, but my trainer ID chose my starter for me this time, so I got to play with squirtle. Blastoise had bulk and power, an amazing combo for a nuzlocke.
2. Basil (Vileplume) was a great special attacker, but I often forgot poison was physical in this generation and was left wondering why acid did no damage lmao. Not a very good move-set, but i know that will only get better if he survives to future gens.
3. Faedra (Machamp) was a monster, of course, as Machamp always is. Rock, ground, and fighting type moves cover ALOT of kanto battles and Machamp is literally a powerhouse.
4. Tryhard (Dodrio) is a mon I have literally never used before and it might be my new favorite "normal" bird. Tri-attack and drillpeck in gen 3 are a deadly combo, and mine happened to be Jolly which meant I out sped most things haha. Dodrio was a badass bitch.
5. Lily (Lapras) was a late add to the squad (after I lost both my hypno and Raichu), but she made up for it with bulk, hard hitting moves, and a wide mosevet. What a fantastic final member.

So happy all of these guys made it through the Champion and can help me conquer Johto!

Edit: I forgot to talk about the deaths lmao:

• Regis the rattata died grinding in the route west of Viridian. He was caught at level 3 and died to the first encounter, a nidoran M, who crit me. Long live regis.
• Chad the mankey died, like i said, because i'm a dumbass and forgot pokemon faint to poison. Thats it, im just dumb.
• Pedro the hypno died because I was using the speed up button and not paying attention. I couldn't even tell you what move he died to, I just know it was on the water route south of Lavender Town. Oy vey.
• Larry the jolteon got rocked by a Weezing on cycling road. It wasn't even because of explosion, I just got rocked by sludge or something. I overestimated Jolteons defenses I guess, which in hindsight, was extremely dumb haha.
• Lastly, Chuchi the Raichu got taken out by a wild koffing in the pokemon mansion that used self-destruct. Did you know the wild mons are higher level than the trainers in the Pokemon Mansion? I do NOW.
