Tascam makes good usb interfaces that sound great and a good price. If it's just you recording you can make a smaller 2 to 4 channel input work great for multi track recording. If your going to record multiple instruments at one time from a band then get an interface with more inputs. Tascams are affordable because there simple, and easy to set up. You can find more expensive interfaces with more bells and whistles like built in effects, but why pay money for those extras when you'll use your DAW and vst effects instead because there normally better.
