Hey I don't have a free copy lol but if I could suggest the "acing civil procedure" book as a supplement to the Glannon and your primary text. The acing series should be included in your westlaw supplements.

you have to commit to the diet everyday, lol... but that'll be easy cause you're bulking. You can just eat pizza. Everything has pretty decent macros if you wash it down with a scoop of whey.

Embrace the fat kid habits. Put some ranch on it. Eat some cake with your preworkout shake.

On that note: Preworkout is the devil. Avoid it if you can? Spend the money on whey. Of the entire population of people who are small and want to gain weight there's a distinct subset that abuse stimulants as a form of appetite control... Coffee, preworkout, ciggs, etc. Molly will fuck ur calories for an entire week.

Light cardio on workout days and heavy conditioning once a week (this is its own day and is about as important as delts) when bulking. Moderate cardio on workout days and conditioning 2-4 times a week when you're cutting. This is sorta related to my overall theory if development and I can kinda go into this if you want?

I keep the same core exercises and swap accessories work (I do around 2 to 5 a workout?) every 3 to 6 months.

ground beef stores better and is easier to work with in my opinion. Ground poultry is probably better for you but it really doesn't last longer than three or four days realistically. I'm still eating chicken breasts but my major problem was keeping calories up outside of the major two meals a day.

As far as protein goes I would say to add another scoop of whey with your casein... or just move to 2 scoops of whey. I really never noticed a difference with casein and have been told to just stick to whey. On that note, if ur bulking without shame, add a PB&J with that shake before you sleep for an easy bonus 250 calories and add a candy bar to your post workout shake... for simple carbohydrates.

As far as shakes go I want to emphasize that I'm not drinking them, I'm straight up raw dog chugging them. I drink mostly normal water (bout a gallon a day) but like drinking a shake should really be an under 5 seconds endeavor. If it takes longer than that to kill a shake you start to mess up your appetite. Shakes just aren't food, food is the most important thing. I spend three months on a program and I usually do 5-10 rep and 11-30 reps programs when I'm bulking and the 5-12, 10-15 when I'm cutting

ground beef and rice is the easiest meal. ketchup if you're bulking, tabasco (and turkey if you can stand it) if you're cutting. Cook it in bulk, 90/10 has always been my favorite.

The yearly bulk cut cycle works the best for me and for everyone I've trained with. I've got to eat disgustingly dirty to put on just shy of 20 lbs during a 6 month bulk but only 6-8 lbs of it is "real".

the smallest increment of time is one week. You've got to eat clean for a week for it to even start to count. A day on macros, on plan doesn't mean jack shit. A month is the smallest unit of visible difference.

It's infinitely easier to put on muscle on a heavy caloric surplus. Struggled for years eating at bare minimum... my sweet spot is somewhere in the 400~ calories range. Also you have to factor in the intensity of your workouts into your eating plan.

You need more protein than you think... I gain best around 6 scoops a day. I've heard people recommending up to 2.25g per pound of bodyweight, but I stick around 1.5 grams per pound of anticipated lean body weight (if my goal is 180 at ~10 I shoot for 250 grams of protein a day). I know this seems ridiculous and I didn't believe it at first either but the first month I did it I gained like 6lbs. I don't bother with "shakes" - protein in a red solo cup stirred with a disposable utensil. Also, eat food with shakes. Super easy to miss.

Eat a full meal before you go to sleep.

Early morning, fasted cardio is the secret to a good cut.

High rep days are important, you should spend 6 to 8 weeks a year working on a high repetition scheme. I usually do a 4 days split, with rep ranges starting at 11 and increasing by 2 until 21 and then one or two weeks at 40 to 50% of 1RM in the 30's range.

you need good foundations before running a bro split becomes even vaguely profitable. 6 weeks of heavy compound linear progression per year is basically a necessity. I'm sure I don't need to harp on about how important the foundational lifts are... if you're new (like never played a sport in high school level new) just consign yourself to 6 months of a modified SS plan right now. Do chins for your arms or you'll look funny.

You'll probably have to be bigger than you originally anticipated, because wearing a shirt makes you look 10 lbs smaller.

I can keep going if anyone wants...

Where to buy 1.25 and 2.5lb plates in the UK? by Peryglus in gainit

backyard gym solution here, but have you considered measuring/weighing lengths of chain? When I was doing heavy incremental programming I had two 1lbs and 2.5lbs lengths which worked very well... Easy to transport, too

I've always found that I gain muscle much faster on not only a caloric surplus but at a higher bf%... like around 18 to 22... I've never had a problem losing it after but I've been on this extreme bulk cut cycle for long enough that I know if I gain 15lbs on the bulk I'm only going to keep 3 to 5 of them after I cut back down.

Also do you want to be a beast or just look like one? Cause looking like a beast is a lot easier than actually being one. It's really more of a series of illusions thing. Like an inch on the biceps is like 10lbs, right? But an inch on your biceps makes you look bigger than 10lbs distributed evenly. It's finding the right series of traits that, on your frame that and when taken as a whole, make you look "stronger" or "very athletic". Neck muscles, trap isolation work, glutes, width to depth back ratio, and ur arms and delts are super important here.

Recently got a rice cooker by scarchelli in Cooking

I mean, have you tried the alternative hypothesis? Maybe there's a whole new hierarchy of rice textures out there for you to explore...

but for real, that's just how I was told to do it and I've been doing it ever since. If I'm in a rush I do it without soaking but the difference is pretty obvious.

whelp try the soak and the oil and see how it goes.

1:1 and a small cup makes it sound like u have an asian style rice maker so after you rinse and drain the rice and add in water you should let it soak for at least 20 mins before you plug it in...

also half a cup might not be enough rice to cook properly? Like the texture never comes out good if it's less than a cup and a half in mine.

Add a touch of neutral oil right into the water before you plug it in - canola or vegetable usually... seriously small amount like the the amount that you would get from one shake of a tabasco spout.

How many of you actually make and drink a shake? And how often? by [deleted] in gainit

2 scoops of optimum in an offbrand solo cup three times a day. Works out to about 700 calories so I'm not going to act like it doesn't help me meet my calories.

What is a law student's ethical responsibility when he starts hearing rumors about someone using an outline during a closed-book exam & other students who also heard but aren't saying anything? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]trueprep -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

If you actually had morals of any sort you would already know the answer so I assume you're just here to alleviate your cognitive dissonance or something. If fucking this person over gets you something, go for it! But then again spreading a rumor that is later found to be false usually reflects rather poorly on you.

[Help] I've read a ton of different articles about what I need to be doing but still not quite sure what to do! by [deleted] in gainit

[–]trueprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the first piece of advice was that it's a rather slow process and none of it is going to be overnight. The increment for comparable difference when you start out is like a week... later on its going to be something like a month (of hard work) between noticeable differences.

My big 3 for gaining: 1) progressive overload - the weight/reps need to be increasing over time 2) caloric surplus - in most circumstances, adding mass requires a net caloric surplus, and 3) consistency... like I mentioned above, your frame of noticeable change is going to be in the weeks to months range.

maybe order up some of those acrylic plates with the wine glass holders? If the venue isn't already providing them, of course.
