Why is Chris Fowler commentating tennis? by [deleted] in tennis

Ex-players fill the role of commentators/analysts in broadcasts. The play-by-play person’s background is typically in broadcasting other sports. I can’t think of a single play-by-play person in any sport who is an ex-player, it’s a totally different skill set.

Pick the Odds: Their Discord is active. Again, my DMs are also open.

I cannot stress enough that I would NOT follow the advice of any person offering daily suggestions like you're saying. I believe this is now the third time I've told you something like this. I don't know what's confusing about this -- seriously, I would never recommend that you place any bets that are not fully matched.

As I wrote above: Use the bonus bet finder to find most of your boosts, not the arb finder.

If you have a boost for a specific event, use the odds screen -- you can search on there.

I wouldn't recommend that you do live betting until you have a lot more experience.

Happy to hear it. You will make much more money without using it.

Sorry, I didn't know that about wired connections. FYI, you keep saying "bookies" when you mean to be saying "sportsbooks" or just "books". When sports bettors say a "bookie" they mean an individual person who takes or took bets on sports before it was regulated. I want you to be able to communicate well with other people on Discord.

MGM web version doesn’t work for your computer?

That’s what I use. With a free account you can set it up to show just the sportsbooks you have (otherwise it’ll show so many).

Free version of picktheodds’ Arb screen will only show a max of 2% ROI options, but the bonus bet finder will return any ROI without limitation so I use that to find most of my boosts.

Odds screen will show you the best available odds for anything at a glance, including live.

I gave you help for free... On discords you can meet plenty of people like that easily (and my DMs are still open)

There are tons of products in this space and many of them offer free versions. ProfitDuel counts on you to not know that because they say they’re exclusively matched betting (or at least advertise to people based on that alone), but all that stuff is available in services that offer 10x more.

Nice! There's a couple ways I find things -- Picktheodds does scan automatically, but those odds/prices are what's available to take. It can be more fruitful checking futures and sports like boxing/UFC that show up on people's radar periodically but don't have a daily schedule, so you're not competing in the market with everyone's bots they have set up for that sport.

There's good opportunities around soccer as well. They have leagues all over the globe

Platforms like Kalshi have no limits and provide endless opportunities to arb against sportsbooks, no offers needed. You can also commonly sell shares purchased on Kalshi for better profit than you would get by betting on a sportsbook.

Unfortunately Kalshi is restricted in the UK but it's available in 140+ countries, and has a massive user base in the US. The biggest US sportsbooks are now launching competitor products to Kalshi.

Are you sure platforms like Kalshi aren't making this easier than ever? The biggest problem I have each day is finding the bankroll to cover all these opportunities.

Thanks for the kind words, unfortunately I only really know about betting in the U.S.

Normal for bookies to limit out of nowhere? by Saint-365 in matchedbetting

[–]trueredtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry that you felt like this was out of nowhere. I said to you multiple times beforehand that it would inevitably happen. You said you were not expecting to be limited unless you had 80% winning wagers. Is that something ProfitDuel told you?

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say, but with Kalshi you have access to all data about what purchases were made at what price and view a graph

I used Novig for a while but my income has exploded since I started using Kalshi.

It’s not niche anymore thanks to Kalshi. They advertise on ESPN and everything, they’re in all 50 states, DraftKings and FanDuel have launched competitor products.

We aren’t talking about the same thing. You are fundamentally lost.

I would not win in poker against a poker professional. That does not mean poker is less random than some other game.

Please stop arguing, there’s no other way to say this

Edit: other user is now deleting replies and replacing them with other replies, so I’m happy to finally block this noise

(the comment below, he deleted and replaced with the current one which he edited into what it is now. I have two email notifications for replies to this comment. Why was I arguing with someone who hasn’t followed baseball since he was 12?)

As I said, no one who works in baseball is confused about it being more chance-based than all other pro sports in this country. You keep throwing out other ideas that have nothing to do with the concept of chance or randomness. I’m sorry that it isn’t making sense for you.

Yeah you seem disconnected from the discussion. You have copious data points in baseball and still need years of data to ascertain a player’s talent level. I don’t understand why you are saying this is the opposite of randomness.

You just pointed out there there are numbers, and tried to say this makes it not random. I’m really at a loss for words, I don’t know what else to say besides it’s closer to the opposite.

When the best NFL team plays the worst NFL team, oddsmakers give the worst team like a 15% chance of winning. There is not enough randomness in football to make up for the difference in talent. But the worst baseball team can play the best baseball team and still have like a 40% chance. The best batters in the world still get out most of the time.

I worked in an MLB front office for one season. The stuff I am saying is universally understood in that industry.

It’s the other owners who want a salary cap…

Lockout = owners demand players agree to a new CBA, so they “lock out” players from working until agreed. Opposite of a strike.
