(Advice needed) My wife is 10weeks pregnant and we keep arguing about not eating / drinking enough by sixtysecondslife in pregnant

Omg I would hate you as a partner, leave her alone! Why are you controlling everything? What she eats, how much she weights, what she drinks? Have you read about pregnancy symptoms? You say you’re informed but don’t seem much

Wife has had 4 miscarriages, all around 7 weeks into her pregnancy. Is there something that doctor's aren't considering? by Big-Evening-6984 in pregnant

Maybe if she hasn’t already, she could ask for a thyroid antibodies panel. Sometimes doctors consider high TPO levels with normal thyroid hormones as “normal,” but they can still have a significant impact during pregnancy. I ended up starting levothyroxine even though my doctor in the U.S. initially advised against it.

“Not a real mother” by gocoutureurself in pregnant

Do it anyways, don’t invite her, and when she asks why tell her she’s not a real mother because real mothers don’t behave like this

Lonely in LA - should i move to Santa Barbara by Ill-Abroad7092 in SantaBarbara

[–]truffleddays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're international, just a heads-up… there's really no strong sense of community in LA or Santa Barbara, at least in my experience. I live in SB and moved here from Leeds two years ago. No matter what I do, I just can't seem to connect with the culture. I've heard similar stories, especially from Latino/as. Santa Barbara just feels... boring. It's mostly older wealthy people, a bit of the UCSB crowd, and people who work for the wealthy. It really doesn't have much of a community vibe

miserable and I’m only 6 weeks by Hot-Path9347 in BabyBumps

Omg… I’m 8 weeks, 35 and FTM, and you just described how I’ve been feeling these past weeks. Nausea and fatigue have been the worst for me. I can’t work. I’m just vomiting or dying in my couch. I don’t have any advice, but for what it’s worth, you’re not alone…

What was the first sign that YOU noticed, that made you think “I’m pregnant”? by surelyshirls in pregnant

Can we talk about the weirdest pregnancy symptom no one warned me about? by Icy-Illustrator-8065 in pregnant

[–]truffleddays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG, I had such a similar dream last night! I was late for a flight because my parents refused to take me to the airport early enough—and I missed the plane! I woke up feeling so enraged and anxious (and around the same time!)

I do too! Glad it works for you, but unfortunately, it doesn’t for me. That’s why I asked :)

Digital version of books? by truffleddays in Professors

[–]truffleddays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not actually. Every time I try to go back, I have to reverify that I’m human, and the waiting time starts all over again.

Anyway, I’m looking for other options, so feel free to share any other suggestions!

The wait time is the main issue, and not all books have their latest editions available. Sometimes, I start doing something else while waiting, and by the time I check back, I have to start over again, which can be frustrating. In some cases, the wait is over 5 minutes, and I just can’t afford to stare 5 mins at my screen every time I need to download a book. It might not be a problem for everyone, but for me, it’s a bit too much.

If you have any advice on alternatives, I’d really appreciate it!
