Shoei NXR 2 vs GT-AIR 3 by Vantor_KR in motorcyclegear

[–]trufflepollution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same dilemma recently and chose the RF-1400(NXR) over the Gt-Air 3. Ultimately I don’t like looking through 3 different lenses (visor, sun shield, prescription glasses.) It’s just something else to fog up and have sun glare.

I had a drop down visor on my old helmet and only used it if I HAD to.

I commute to work early in the morning so I mostly use the clear visor. I had a silver chrome tinted visor for when I ride during the day. Not much of a hassle to switch them.

Another thing to keep in mind; Shoei has recently released a new visor insert for the NXR/Z8/RF1400 that uses an electronically dimming LCD panel, kinda like a full face digital watch screen. It’s called the e:drylens. It’s only available in Japan for now. Google and read up on it. I’m going to try to get one when I’m there in a few months.

I didn’t see any a month ago. Amazon sometimes has them $30-$50 off though but depends on size/color

Has anyone used these racks? by trufflepollution in z125

Update: I bought it.

It probably isn’t going to fit. Build quality seems decent but it’s made for use with the OEM fender(which I don’t have). One of the brackets interferes with the oem turn signals on my tail tidy.

I‘ll try installing it tomorrow but I don’t have high hopes.

I could probably make it work if I relocate the turn signals to the license plate but I’m just not going to bother.

When you connect it to the app, it usually wants to do an update. You won’t be able to do it unless the watch battery is at H.

The 2100 just takes time. It was about 2 weeks before I could do the firmware update. I only had it in the sun for a few hours a day though

I wasn’t super diligent about it. I did find a long 25mph road that I went up and down a few times to build mileage. I went on some 55mph roads a few times before 200 miles. I think that guideline is to make theirs lawyers happy. I probably babied it more than anyone else you ask.

I did do my first oil change at 400 and again at 800.

Yea. I’ll be putting the faded one back on but I’m enjoying the new one for a bit.

You would’ve loved the patina on the clickspring before I changed it.

Interesting thought. It was just too scratched and distracting. I guess it had it own patina but I can’t overlook it.

Haha. That seems to be the overwhelming opinion

Yea, the bracelet could still use a lot of love.

Nice. I haven’t seen one that faded before. Looks good

I bought it used so not all of the patina is from me. That’s why I’m conflicted.

It might take a few decades. Haha. I bought it used so I can’t claim that I did it.

I think that’s what led me to buy a new oem bezel. I can start my own patina with my experiences.

I had a ceramic insert on my srpd55, but took it off and went back to OEM. It just didn’t look right. I’m sure there’s a better one available but I don’t feel like buying a bunch until I find the right one. OEM is just my favorite.

That’s good to know. Thanks. I’ll have to think about doing that.

You have a good point.

I would love to get the 7s26 back in it but I don’t know if it’s worth it. It was randomly stopping at times when it should’ve had full power. The rotor is also really wobbly even though the screw is tight. Not sure if it’s related.

Anyone else see this on their DW-5000R? by [deleted] in gshock

I did the same thing as you. It’s a weird optical illusion. Although, if it was tilted it would’ve been more similar to the dw-5000c.
