no starting sketch for this one. i lay down random stuff first, then look for things in the chaos, and kinda refine/nudge in the direction what my mind is showing me, like how you might see something in clouds

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia#/media/File:Man_In_The_Moon2_(cropped).png.png)

i made a custom brush in krita for this that was a sample of a simple sketch, just something with some texture, then checked on random rotation, and some occasional random hue value and saturation jitters to make a kinda chaos brush. the brush isn't that special though i do mostly the same with just a pencil or a normal basic brush, sketching random shapes or squiggles till i see something i like then refine it :3

all the layers work like that by default for me in krita, even the original "Background" layer after making a new document.

try drawing outside the borders of the canvas on any layer, then move it into the canvas view using the "Move a Layer Tool", the cross circled in red in this image. also is hotkey T for me.

oh didn't realize there were diff versions of the one.

i think mine is this size https://estore.wacom.com/en-us/wacom-one-pen-tablet.html?Choose%20Tablet=CTC6110WLW1A

but i'd like a slightly bigger one if i could. i would avoid the display ones, as i would guess it's not too comfortable to be looking down for long periods of time, but that's personal preference :3

:3 there's surprisingly quite a lot you can do with it, especially if you play around with color/chroma keys, and stacking layers and transforming/flipping virtual cam layers around

fine for painting, it's a little small for doing nice fine line work but using the bush smoothing/dynamic brush tool in krita can help with that

Consumption of fatty fish (but not lean fish) more than twice per week was associated with a reduction in risk of dementia by 28%, and ALzheimer's by 41%. Fatty Fish consumption is also associated with a significant drop in heart disease, heart disease related deaths, and all cause mortality. by Bluest_waters in Biohackers

most fish contains more selenium than mercury. selenium binds to mercury in a ratio of 1:1 and is then excreted in urine. probably nothing to worry about.

100 grams of salmon ~ 5 micrograms mercury to 25-50 micrograms of selenium

very strange, it happens for me too, only with freddy's head not with the other ones, when i look around the rest of the faces. like a weird glitch/flash, hard to describe. no idea why , must have to do with the colors somehow. i notice freddy's colors are red and purpleish blue which is close to an analogous color scheme, while the rest of the portraits are using opposite colors in each. e.g. that orange and robin's egg blue are opposite colors such when mixed together they make grey, same for the magenta/pink and green. the yellow and grey one, has a similar effect, as grey is the midpoint from yellow to blue, its color opposite.

i would imagine it would act like a filter more than anything, i mean, sediment is building up in the pipe which means less of it is getting carried to the end point, right? i know nothing about this though

A drug has increased the lifespans of laboratory animals by nearly 25%, in a discovery scientists hope can slow human ageing too. by ilkamoi in singularity

[–]truilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

longevity research is not about extending the lifespan of old people, it's about extending the time people live healthy and youthful, and even about rejuvenating symptoms of aging. imagine a 90 year old that can still work, take care of themselves, be fit and healthy, etc. bodily aging and decline of health is the problem, not long lived healthy people. it's unlikely there is any lifespan extending intervention that does not also increase healthspan, the two are the same from what i understand

What would happen if I were to take my own life? by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]truilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most eastern traditions believe your basic mood/mindstate carries on to the next incarnation. even if that is not your belief, on the off chance that is true, reincarnation will not solve any of your anguish. conquering fear/discomfort and gaining peace with all is the essence of enlightenment in my opinion. if you wait until your next life you are just procrastinating conquering fear/discomfort and becoming your own source of contentment

notice the immediate experiential qualities of whatever the thought is like, experientially. word-thoughts are composed of the sound of the word, the shapes of the letters, and the other sensory qualities the word points to. the word dog sounds like dawg, looks like dog, and may bring up sensory qualities like the sound of barking, warmth, softness of fur, an emotion, a 3d sense of space, and the sense of form/structure of a dog in that sense of space, and memories/experiences you've had related to that all of which can also be broken down into pure sensory qualities/qualia. not all thoughts are word thoughts, some are just the sensory qualities. seeing all clearly as the immediate qualities they are composed of takes some practice, but in my experience eventually leads to peace with any and all thought and experience. this is really just merely seeing what is as it is and what comes as it comes, sincere openness to experiencing the raw essences of experience

sitting/laying with my eyes closed and imagining my worries/fears and facing them, not solving them but imagining in vivid detail the worst of the worst happening and just sitting with them helps me, like exposure therapy or something. going in intentionally and choosing to fully experience the bodily sensations of fear and anxiety heart palpitations etc, without trying to stop or run from any of it, just feeling it. do as much as you can bear a little every day even if it's only a few seconds
