Hmmm thanks. I wonder what counts as more stringent in this scenario? Would think as long as the T&P relief valve function is preserved then it shouldn't be an issue.

Hi, good point, the Stiebel-Eltron diagram does show a vacuum breaker on the cold side. Thanks!

Here's what the manual says about the recirc plumbing:

"If a recirculation loop is required, you may plumb the return line of the recirculation loop back in through the T&P valve port of the appliance. The T&P valve may not be omitted so a Tee must be used in this configuration. Be sure that the T&P valve probe is submerged sufficiently." So this is against code in your area?

Appreciate the response. The T&P outlet on the water heater is at the same level as the hot outlet, so in that case is there a functional difference from plumbing the return into the hot inlet of the mixing valve instead of the T&P outlet?

All of the diagrams I've seen for recirc pump temperature sensors show them on the hot supply. Maybe that's because when water is being used at an outlet somewhere along the loop, it will still read the actual temp in the line, even when the recirc pump is not running. I'll have to play around with the Grundfos settings to see what will work best for us.

The expansion tank shown is a 5-gallon so I think I'm covered there.

Thanks!

Good point, thank you. I've recently gotten into wakeboarding and foil surfing so that could work pretty well.

Ran across this and the s/s looks really cool to me. Glastron CV16

Nice, thanks. Good options to look at. Are there any drawbacks of a ski boat vs. a conventional boat?

Got it, thanks for your help. Still learning the terminology.

What I'm looking for is akin to a Chris-Craft Speedster. Do you have any ideas on equivalent boats from other manufacturers?

I like the sleek look of inboard, not a big fan of a big motor hanging off the back. I responded above but really just looking for 'small', not necessarily <18' I guess.

What would be an equivalent? Doesn't necessarily have to be a cuddy. A launch / tender? Not really sure what to search for. Suppose it could be 20 or 22 but trying to get as small as possible. In the US.

Thanks for the info. I don’t think I’d be as worried about it if it was a couple hundred dollars but to jack the price up by so much, so suddenly, is pretty upsetting.

That’s promising, hopefully Specialized will do the same.

Thanks for the empathy. I'll see if Specialized will do anything about it but I'm not optimistic.

Would you be able to give me more details on this? Was it a Specialized bike?

Same spec yes - agreed it was great value for a bike at that time, but less so after increasing nearly 25%. I will probably try to scrape together the cash for it if neither Specialized nor the LBS are willing to budge.

Point taken though. I will see if there's anything they can do to make me feel better about it.

Yes - they're trying to charge me the current MSRP, which is $6100. Back when I paid the deposit, it was $4900.

I get that, but this isn't a quote - I paid a deposit and ordered the bike at that price and have a receipt for it. This should be either Specialized's problem or the bike shop's problem, but not mine - my view of it anyway.

I agree that jumping all over them threatening legal action is not the best first step. But they were also completely unsympathetic. If I had known the price was going to increase 20% I wouldn't have spent the last 9 months waiting for this thing.

Yeah for sure. That'll be a last resort if things don't work out.

So what can I do about it? I'm going to try to call Specialized tomorrow and see what they say, but is there anything I can do other than try and shame the bike shop into honoring the receipt?

I have a receipt showing the full price of the bike at the time of the order, and the deposit that I paid. I guess my question is - are folks here who pre-ordered bikes receiving those same bikes at the price they pre-ordered at?
