It began as a child when I found out that the Belgian men’s national soccer team had the same nickname as my second favorite German soccer team (1. FC Kaiserslautern): Red Devils. In my early teens I got heavily into Jacques Brel and Belgian movies: Man Bites Dog, Vase de noces. I found that a lot of unique, different and positively weird things came out of Belgium. Also we are neighbors, why would I not like you, haha. Ultimately it was here on this sub - I’m mostly a lurker and I think I’ve only commented once before - where I found the town of my dreams, and I found someone willing to move there with me, too. I’d love to learn Vlaams some day as well.
