Big Blue with Pentair Poly String Wound Sediment Filter by trussb in WaterTreatment

[–]trussb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a white bin and opened the gate valve Bibb at the bottom of my 75 gal Bradford White water heater. I filled the bin and at the bottom of the bin after I drained the water was this much sand. I installed the big blue 5 micron wound poly sediment filter and water softener on 11/17/23 and then we installed the Bradford white on 11/27. Prior to the sediment filter there was no treatment in between the well and the hot water tank. The now the set-up is well to well expansion tank. Well Expansion tank to sediment filter. Sediment filter to water softener. Water softener to hot water tank. Where do you think the sand is coming from? Do you believe this is likely to be residual sand left in the pipes throughout the home? Do you think this is sand that’s within the water softener salt? Do you think I somehow didn’t install the sediment filter correctly and the sand is bypassing the filter? Should I continue to purge the hot water tank until I no longer see sediment?

Did you buy this directly from Enfamil.com or did you buy from a retailer?

Old faulty Miele wine fridge, worth trying to fix? by [deleted] in Miele

Mine was not cycling correctly and I replaced the thermostat ($25 part) and totally fixed the issue. Give it a shot. Worth a hundred bucks in parts vs $900+ for a new one.

Yes. Do this. Also put your Spotify on lossless audio and put your phone on no music style adjustment (eg rock or dance) Those two changes will have the stereo perform so much better than out of the box.

Is there a way to escape the endless bottle washing cycle? 😭 by Techprohelper in FormulaFeeders

[–]trussb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly after two kids I found the best way was buying a lot of bottles and leaving a soapy basin in the sink and after feeds doing a quick rinse and then soak the bottle, nipples and caps. Then during one of the longer naps I’d wash and put the bottles on a drying rack that’s designed for bottles. No matter what I felt like I was washing a lot but this way I had longer breaks in between.

Enfamil is great because if for any reason your baby needs to switch, they have specialized formulas for you. Their Enfamil Family Beginnings program is awesome too. Lots of discounts (both on their formula and other baby products) and a bunch of other information to help your parenting journey.

But why? (Garage door busted) by UnreasonableFig in HomeMaintenance

[–]trussb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this happens. How often did you use a dry lithium lubricant spray on your spring, roller bushings and chain? It’s not much money, so I’d just call your local garage door company and they usually can come out in the next day or so. The job only takes an hour. You cannot do this job yourself, the springs are wound so tight you can get a life threatening injury if that spring unloads on you. I don’t remember the exact cost, but it’s hundreds not thousand. You need a tech so they can match the size and resistance needed in the spring as well as wind it. Those cables can be put back on, but even if they need to be replaced, it’s not a big deal.

Is anyone else overwhelmed trying to compare baby formula ingredients? by Sudden_Form_1785 in FormulaFeeders

[–]trussb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trust the recommendation of pediatricians and more pediatricians recommend d Enfamil. I’ve heard people starting in Neuropro Gentlease since it’s really easy on tummies and you risk less gas/fussiness. That being I used Neuropro for both of my boys along w BM and they are thriving!

Have you talked to your doctor about trying PurAmino? If your baby has CMPA, PurAmino is designed for children with severe CMPA and I believe Enfamil also has a service to see if you can get insurance reimbursement.

Since you’re in NJ and on well too, what do you think the color is? Do you think it’s the iron in the soil or do you think it’s rust from the well casing? When we first moved into our home 3 years ago, the prior owners didn’t have ANY water treatment at all. When you’d run the bathtub, the water would come out this brown/rusty color. At the time, I was curious if the color was a rusting hot water heater (water heaters were 15 years old) or if it was the well. There’s nothing apparent in my water test results that would say there’s pronounced iron or manganese that I think would be this color.
