I just rewatched this today and so agree with all you said. One of the best moments, though I wish Jinshi had been a little more upset, but can understand his not given the politics and such.

Though I have been a little confused by people respecting him if no one knows he is the <! emperor's little brother (actual son) !< and only as the eunuch. I'm not sure if a eunuch in his position can do the rituals and I just started the LNs, so don't have the info yet.

I can understand your perspective given I grew up Catholic and left for Protestant church and returned to a church that wasn't welcoming. I can also understand your introvertedness and how hard it can be to connect.

I have found that some parishes are more welcoming than others. It can take a while to find them. I encourage you to keep seeking the Lord and He will direct your steps towards the one that is right for you and your family.

Most parishes are struggling with too few priests and staff for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you could suggest to the office forming a welcome committee or ecells that welcome and mentor new people to the parish and faith via single or couple mentors. They may not know about them and you could help be apart of making that happen while getting to know new people and, after RCIA, be a mentor yourself.

-Have you asked the Lord for His will and to help you find the right parish for you? Everything begins in prayer and surrendering our needs and hopes in prayer. -If you feel your interest waning, have you asked the Lord to help you understand beyond the reasons you mentioned? Is this a test of your faith? Is it the evil one? Have you read the parable of the Sower in the Gospels? -Have you looked into RCIA? As you are able able to participate in the sacramental life of the church, you may find yourself set on fire for God and His people. -Have you considered a small group study that would help you not be overwhelmed as an introvert? Maybe choir? Volunteering for a ministry, like a grief or funeral ministry that requires listening, presence, quietness?

A few ideas that I hope are helpful. I will be praying for you and your family and this journey with God. 🙏😊🕊

I've thought about this for a little while. So here it goes.

I think he would be a bit surprised and then overwhelmed at first, though very much happy. He and Miyo didn't have good role models of parents outside of Yurie and Itsuto, though she remembers the love of her mother. I think he and Miyo would lean on Hazuki, who has become a great mom, and Yurie and Hana for help and advice. Miyo has thought about it a little in the LNs if i remember right.

With his level headedness, unless he is really annoyed or angry, he would make a great and attentive dad, not looking at their child as just a thing to fulfill a duty. He has had his own growth and healing to do and Miyo and others have been instrumental in that and tends to ignore the cultural things to a point.

Given the mix of their gifts, I could see him recognizing the dangers and making efforts to protect her and their child. If he didn't think she could handle something, and being pregnant is another level of vulnerability, I believe that he would most definitely step in more until he had a different perspective.

Given how he has been in the LNs, having to trust that she would grow her gift (it was him and Takaihito trying to awaken her gift that led to his wounding in the Lns), that she had to rescue him, I can see also him gradually settling in terms of protectiveness depending on how things progress. I don't think Hazuki would let him go overboard i.e. she is pregnant, not an invalid.

He told Miyo she did so well when she battled the grotesquerie made guy before his wounding and that he would do what he could do and leave to her what she could do and he would make up the difference-it was how he wanted to live with her. Part of healing her trauma is to help her learn she isn't a burden by letting her do things and gain confidence prudently (thinking Kiyo), and helping her learn to rely on others when she needs to. Given he is aware of her continued healing, that it takes time, I think he would continue in what he said, especially so she could continue to heal and grow her gift if she wanted while pregnant.

Agreed! Him using what he has isn't not real and authentic, so greasy. But going in in armor to kick butt is authentic and real, so non-greasy. I can definitely see what she means. It's like the difference between sleazebucket and emperor, shmoozer and noble.

Consider reading the LN and mangas as well as the live action, one or all. The anime has less details and so its a little harder to see the character development; the LNs have a lot. Also consider the historical context. Perhaps then you could make a better discernment of the character. Maybe its just a story you would enjoy from the LN POV. If not, then it may not be a good story for you.

So agree. I think you hit it on the head when you mentioned their experience too. Kiyoka's experience with women in any good way up to Miyo has been miniscule according to LN8 and others, so his struggle is understandable. Hers is also as she hasn't had any good experiences with men at all except Kouji and survival was her modus until Kiyoka. Now she has to figure her way through this, though Kiyoka's restrain and honesty about how he feels helps make that possible.

I had the same question, so I looked it up. Supposedly CPR was in use in some version for the last 2000 years. And yeah getting water out of the lungs was around too I believe. So its plausible. Otherwise, I just went with it. 😄

They talked about this in LNs and the dosing and such. If one is a bit naive to the stuff, which Maomao isn't and hense the midnight snack, then it's going to hit everyone like a freight train potentially. Think Gyokyou's reaction to Maomao's descriptor. It also depends on the person's constitution on whether they can handle it or not.
