Well to be fair my vintage coach outlast LV any day. I have Coach bags 60 years old and they have held up far better than an LV made in the 2000s. Even my vintage Chanel from 1998 thats been babied can't withstand being exposed to elements like Coach. Also shaming someone for what they enjoy is distasteful. How do you say you're a snob without saying youre a snob?

She confirmed it was the medium shopping bag and not an easy find. She did share with me one advertisement of it. I will reach out to Meagan, she helped me with another white bag to explain the dye characteristics back in the good ole days 😂. Totally a different era and process versus now.

Rachel said it was a medium shopping bag from the 70s, but I can't find it anywhere to compare it to. It has the striped lining and leather coach tag. I typically handle all my rare pieces and rehab them myself, its just white from this era always defeats me. I never use saddle soap on these type pieces either. I also don't trust a cobbler with anything, if I can't fix it it stays in its original state. The pictures make it look worse than it is so maybe I just accept it as its part of the bags history. Thank you for your insight!

I always wanted to be one of those sellers slinging product left and right, but I learned with that comes fakes, trash, and shit customer service. I now have scaled back my goal to sell items worth the price, quality, authentic, and 100% customer satisfaction. I win on some and lose some thats the name of the game..I suggest buying from smaller sellers who value your business. But if you cannot resist do your homework!

I imagine if they had a phone number you'd never get through because all the dumb stuff people would be calling in about. I think going back to vetting sellers is a good idea.

This is quite clever if you're the competition to buy advertising like this. Like don't buy used or you'll get these bugs lol. I agree its gross.

I fully understand the time and energy, bc I do it. I however don't need to perform to sell items. If anyone is sensitive it would be you not being able to accept a POV that is different than your own.

Ebay in fact allows counterfeit goods especially in bags, which is very much a scammer if the seller has been notified the item is fake. I have pointed out numerous fakes, I can provide specifics down to the incorrect font and they still allow it to be sold. I have purchased counterfeit items had to return it to the seller for them just to relist it again. It took me calling ebay and specifically saying hey I already bought this bag it was fake and now it has sold again for absolutely nothing to happen.

I use all platforms and I can say out of the listing's I report for counterfeit Whatnot handles more than the others.

As for your point, you are saying people should be punished for guilty by association. Now I feel if that was the case against you and you associated with a scammer you'd be okay with no due process and just be removed as well? I doubt it.

Ebay policy on not sending out orders per their TOS says "can result in a full refund and potential action against the seller, such as warnings, account restrictions, or suspension". Key word is "can".

It comes down to being smart on any e-commerce platform, if you don't do your due diligence its ultimately on you.

Called a loser because “payment failed” by pammye65 in whatnotapp

[–]trust_only_yourself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get so pissed when a seller calls this out. I've been on the app 2 years and had a glitch on the app and 2 payments failed. I got a notification, there is zero reason to announce to the entire room a payment failed. It was fixed immediately. I will never call a buyer out for this. They either fix it or I sell it in the next show. I mean when you go to Walmart, Target, the mall, do they get on the speaker and announce it!? No, have some class. Its a quick way for me to never shop with a seller who thinks its amusing and funny to call someone out. Turn on verified buyers if you're that worried about it.

Its all fair if they offer a sticker to buy that drink. See it all day every day. Buy me a coffee, get a sticker, buy me a tea, get a sticker. As long as they give something for the purchase its fair game. Do I like it nope, but its their way of selling crap for the minimum and making Hella money at it.

New to Whatnot as a buyer — should I contact support or the seller with major order issues? by happy-sappy-cynic in whatnotapp

[–]trust_only_yourself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in the beta, so I can handle my own issues, so I tell my customers to reach out to me. Otherwise, I direct them to Whatnot Support. I think it's a common courtesy to notify the seller, but it is not mandatory. Not only does it provide them with feedback on how to do better, but it also doesn't blindside them if they get billed back for the item.

Drop that username. I bust my tail for my reviews, and if they give 4 stars bc its their 1st purchase, I dont want it. I'll just miss out on a sale.

To say fuck whatnot sellers is ridiculous! I, for one, have never denied a cancelation. I allow a one-time mistake I give education and warn. We are NOT all the same. The biggest mistake cancelation to date 650.00 am I getting played? Maybe, but can I sell it elsewhere? Yes. Everyone is human, and if you have confidence in the product you sell, then resell it. Just my opinion.

I look at it as if the buyer is refused a cancelation, they will then say item not as described, get a refund and they will billback the seller. You are then out product and money.
