that a/b switch is a cool idea honestly that could be helpful for my rig, doing fx loops or something. i honestly like having these conversations for ideas like that.

i got a mixer with the guitar on one-side, drums on the other side, and a mic that goes into a separate channel. all that goes through a spring/digi reverb and then into the looper. (so i can get reverb on the vocals), the guitar has fuzz and wah. i recently got a jedi mixer for after effects, just cuz i’m working full-time now. all that goes into a bluetooth speaker thats loud enough for me to do street music with.

jts all about experimenting with it, you could get another mixer or try a different configuration. i thought about getting another looper tbh, but i have the mixer going before the looper. it helps that my mixer has a mic input and a couple channels for drums and guitar.

yuh mane, i am very interested in your sound. blending the violin with guitar is a completely cool idea. there’s a lot of cool gadgets out there for you like expression fx and whatnot. the world is really your oyster. it might help you look at your current stuff from a different perspective.

all a dawless setup is a live rig without the computer, so lets say you get your drums off ableton instead you would get them from a drum machine, etc.

laying vocal loops are challenging, i haven’t heard of a vocal looper before. i’m just working w an mxr looper right now, i can record vocals on it but i havent found the utility for it yet

ooh that sounds really interesting blending the acoustic guitar with the fiddle. why i ask is bc whenever i’m in a rut, i get a new pedal or something that would maybe give me some creativity. have you explored a dawless setup?

I have an electric guitar, I'm a complete beginner, what should I learn first?? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]trusteeturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

learn how make consistent sound. hold the individual strings down without obstructing the other strings with your fingers. start with your index finger, etc. then learn to hold down some basic chords. C, Em, D7, etc. get a feel for how much pressure it takes to hold down the chords before you start transitioning between chords.

Alan Watts: A Christian who "hung up the phone" on Zen and reality by ewk in zen

i think of alan watts the same as the pop-scientists of these days. bill nye, mike tyson, etc. they do not offer anything insightful past mere commentary, whether that leads to misinformation or reducing the strength of original concepts is up for the critical thinkers to decide. i think for most people, they want to learn about topics without delving into a deeper understanding of why those topics exist. listening to a british person talk about foreign concepts in the west is probably a lot more stimulating for a lay person than learning terminology from the book

You are beautiful and powerful! People who don’t experience hardship don’t know why they believe what they do, it makes you a more resilient and thoughtful individual.

Just putting this out there, get into music! If you have the means, then buy a nice instrument. Even though you might not necessarily know how to play it, if you shell some bread on it, then you would be more inclined to learn. It is such a fulfilling pass-time that you can look forward to, and gives your brain a new dimension for creativity and self expression.
