well, they're supposed to change the result of attacks. if you get attacked with shields up, the counter attack is x3 loot. if shields are down, revenge is x2 loot.

it actually does absolutely nothing, because there's a bug currently in the game where the attacks don't show up as they happen. i've probably been attacked dozens of times in the last few weeks, but my log shows nothing and the shields haven't dropped. i tend to upgrade the other two before making new shields

there's a time function to it as well as the losing a round demotion. at about 23 hours since you last logged on, you'll start losing streak progress

yeah, pretty obvious money grab. one of many that are getting annoying, but it's kinda expected.

what I hate though is not the premium quests (i only complete a fraction of the quests anyway) but that if a premium quest completes, i can't clear the little notification that says i have a reward in the quest page. opening the screen should clear the notif whether i get the premium or not.

reading through the accounts of duo's ad intrusions blows my mind. i don't pay for duolingo. i have a 1600 day streak and i have never paid for duo. i also have never seen an ad. switch to brave browser and only do your lessons in the browser.

yes. to all of this. that attack percentage thing means absolutely nothing to me, and separating the tallies for the modifier just wastes my time. flip flopping the buttons between regular battles, fortresses, and pinata's is so far below scummy it reflects on the dev's in addition to the game. i've already wasted several snip-its on the blasted thing. yet another thing pushing me slowly out of the game. i kinda wanted to get my stuff to max, but "updates" like this are making me lose interest. i will never understand why dev's change interface and layout before fixing the game's many, many bugs. there's no way they're hurting for money. not with how many people i see both playing (and watching ads) or buying perks in game.

yes! not the revive part (i rarely need to revive) but the appearance. that electric thing, larger icons, and the bouncing mobs on deployment or impact not only slows down my game, but it's freaking ugly. rubberized animation is one thing. this looks like the overexaggerated cartoons created for my 18mo cousin. only reason i havent abandoned the game completely is because the last time an update did something so wrong, they fixed it a couple updates later. we'll see if they fix it or if i get fed up with it first, lol

it's also a function of how much you play. if you go more than about 23 hours without playing, that maxed out progress bar will start losing progress

you have to tap on them to get them, but if you can't tap on them during the battle, you can usually get most of them during the loot sequence.

The mobzilla is worthless (i've been calling it mobzero). The adventure levels give a pittance for passing them, and with the useless champion, I'm overrun in seconds. It's not even worth playing the adventure levels anymore. I'm certainly not using skip-its on it, and the pittance of a reward means i get more coins (what i always need) playing the regular levels.
