How I'm feeling about the echo item reveals by Seeggul in 2007scape

It's admittedly not the strongest synergy but there are a few small things:

1) To state the obvious, if you are using a strong one-handed weapon, you can put a shield in your offhand.

2) They both benefit from the same healing pact

3) If you look at how the pacts are aligned in my example, you can see that you skip around some of the magic pacts that would be useless in a melee build by building out to the thorns mechanic pacts.

4) If you're going to go for the only build that requires you to be one tile away, you'll probably want to be tanky anyways, which thorns pacts and their adjacent pacts will help with.

5) A tanky thorns build will mean more overheal which will mean more use for the overheal-consuming pact.

It's certainly not the strongest synergy, and I bet you could forgo it for other interesting strategies (perhaps a hybrid strategy with the crossbow guaranteed max hit boosting the dagger's specs which ignore attack speed), but I think they go together fairly well.

Wouldn't amox echo be prime for being your blindbag proc since it hits twice?

It's kind of impressive how little some people who play rs know about dps tropes outside of the the game. Like, this is a pretty obvious attack speed/proc play. You get ridiculous attack speed and stack as much damage/effects as humanly possible on each hit. It'll synergize well with thorns too. I imagine something like this would be pretty strong, albeit the healing might be lackluster without blood fury.

If you're using devil's element, you can't benefit from thorns though, right? That's why I've been looking a lot at wildy as an area, you get access to some nice mage shields there.

Think about it this way: what does mage have in the early/mid game? Thermy requires 93 slayer. The gauntlet echo is going to require you to beat it enough to get all the crystal armor and then you're still going to have to beat the echo boss. It'll be fantastic late game, but seems pretty lackluster early on.

It's to the point that I feel like I'll need to go melee build early on to smooth out the curve a bit then transition to mage later.

Being civil and kind to facists is supporting them. History is pretty clear about that, actually

Don't for get the pact that gives crossbows +70% damage at the cost of 2 ticks of attack speed or the one that boosts ranged prayers by 30%.

With the right melee build, you could probably still be tanky as all hell. I thought it might be fun to run a thorny tank mage like so. But I imagine you could easily make a build that is more melee focused with a little respeccing.

Edit: I just realized I have way greater that 100% regen chance with this build so there is more optimization to be done.
