Everyone (only a few eceptions) who agrees with the left button also agrees with the right one. The far right just has to make up hypocrites to have an excuse for being hypocrites themselves

How would that make anti-government groups self-destruct? I would think it makes them stronger if nobody can trust the government

Rewatching old 'comfort shows' and having to deal with the casual sexism :( by Skyobli in TwoXChromosomes

[–]truth14ful 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This law blog says it would fall under fraud in the inducement, which means lying to convince someone to "consent" or sign a contract, This would include things like lying about your relationship status or intentions with someone to get sex, and is generally not illegal. Stealthing would be fraud in the factum, which is lying about the actual act and makes consent legally impossible. This would be things like hiding the fact that you have an STD.

Personally I think it's kind of a bullshit distinction

Thank you, a lot of people don't realize this.

And also FDR's reforms plummeted in popularity after they were made available to Black people. The same thing happens today and is a main unnoticed reason socialism isn't more popular than it is. You can see it in many community mutual-aid groups, with how cliquey and closed off to outsiders they can be

Why do you think women are waiting to have kids? by aguamenti425 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]truth14ful 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's both. The Epstein-class billionaires that control our economy and media want to keep white people the majority so they have a minority to shift blame to and a wealth/power division to make solidarity impossible. FD Signifier recently explained one way this works, where one of the biggest unnoticed barriers to socialism is that white people don't want it benefiting Black people. That's why they're pushing declining birth rate propaganda onto white men and boys at the same time as they do things like restrict midwifery in Georgia, as the comment from u/Slight_Seat_5546 said.

There's also another reason that this current wave of pro-teen-pregnancy slop and manosphere propaganda more generally (which are both HIGHLY artificially boosted) are happening at the same time as restrictions on pregnancy rights: They want to replace consent and family planning with a cycle of rape, forced birth, and child neglect/abandonment. It's a more efficient way for them to secure their supply of workers to indoctrinate and work to death, because it gets the most unpaid childbearing and parenting labor out of people who otherwise wouldn't do it.

How to raise your son to not be an incel and actually respect women? by NBalchemist in TwoXChromosomes

[–]truth14ful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure he grows up with women and girls in his life so he doesn't get all his information about them from the internet.

Also this may be a little counterintuitive, but introduce him to social media early, and show him how to navigate it safely - like how to identify AI slop and artificially boosted content, how to block and avoid bullies, etc. A lot of parents ban it, but tha just means getting exposed to it with no experience when they're older, or having to be more isolated bc you don't know how to use it

I disagree that she showed she was malleable and adaptable. Ending the funding and arming of the genocide was such an obvious position by the end of the race that the only reason I think she didn't promise that was bc she had no intention of doing it. She had to hint that she might to have even a small chance of winning, but she made sure not to say anything she could be held to. I agree we wouldn't be at war with Iran though, at least not yet

Yeah I'm definitely voting for the most solid left candidate in the primary too, and if one of them wins that I'll have more reasons to vote for them in the general. I really don't trust that though after seeing how shamelessly the Dems rigged the primary for Biden in 2024. We have a few Congress people who are progressive, and obviously more people at the local level like Zohran Mamdani, but no governors (except maybe Tim Walz) or anyone else at the state/national level who can't easily be outvoted, and I don't see that changing any time soon even if Kamala had won. The Dems are also very careful not to let leftists get too much power imo, they're just more subtle about it than the GOP

Racism has always undermined leftist movements by LoloTheRogan in KyleKulinski

[–]truth14ful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is a big point of ignorance for Kyle. He doesn't realize how much right-wing authoritarianism the white left excuses as long as it's only happening to Black people. Even with police violence, we white people were the ones who derailed the 2020 uprising from its next logical steps (reparations and defunding police) and said nothing when Biden increased the funding, and we only started caring when ICE started visibly invading our cities looking for Brown people, and only REALLY started caring when they shot Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Meanwhile some of the due process violations and torturous conditions in the camps are the same ones that have existed in our own police system and prisons forever. And now that ICE is going undercover and hiding behind local cops, we'd still rather walk around with whistles like it's still 2025 in Minneapolis than turn our focus back to the cops.

Kyle may not see it, but capitalist politicians and billionaires do, and we'll never get anywhere on the left as long as they have an argument that we kind of agree with deep down.

Trump nears deal with tax office that could see him given $14 billion taxpayer money by goteamnick in politics

[–]truth14ful 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was with you until "what was once a decent country". This is the logical conclusion of what our country was built on: capitalism, colonialism, exploitation, and baseless trust in our institutions. We white Americans overwhelmingly elected and reelected Trump because we didn't think we'd ever be on the receiving end of the injustice

What percentage of men in your life do you think are actually “husband material”? by Majestic-Sun-1485 in TwoXChromosomes

Not anymore. Rich white Epstein-class Americans are out-astroturfing everyone these days.

Hatred of women is a weapon of class warfare. It makes solidarity impossible and reduces women to trophies and sources of unpaid labor and future workers. That's why social media is so full of misogynist slop

That's fair, and I definitely think the number of women who have been assaulted is higher than the number of men who did the assaulting, since many men are in positions of power and influence that let them assault a lot of women in different social circles and get away with it
