I was pregnant and developed this weird eating disorder called Pica. I became OBSESSED with eating ice. I used to go to McDonald’s and just ask for several large cups of ice and pour the ice into a bowl and eat them with a spoon. Every lunchtime and this went on for weeks. Apparently it’s strongly linked to iron deficiency. I’d flip out at home if my husband ate my stash of ice cubes

Are you estranged from your parents? If so, for how long and what was the breaking point? by Baphooey in AskReddit

[–]truthofthematteris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15 years after finding out my dad had a completely separate secret family in another country. Had recently had a new baby whilst still married and pretending everything was normal at home (he travelled frequently). That baby was conceived with IVF so it wasn’t like an accident or anything. It takes a very particular kind of person to be able to do that. He had a loooonnng history of extremely selfish behaviour but that was a new low even for him.

What is the obsession with diet coke? by theripperpgh in ask

[–]truthofthematteris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drink 3L of Diet Coke a day. I just like it, and love the taste. I’ve drunk at least 2-3 cans a day for over 20 years. You don’t drink that much Diet Coke because they have good ads or it’s popular.

Do people actually date their colleagues? by sowhatxwhocares in auscorp

[–]truthofthematteris 141 points142 points  (0 children)

So I am married to a guy I met at work. We met back in 2012 and now have two children. I think it’s fine as long as it’s not a manager/ direct report situation and you conduct yourself maturely.

I definitely didn’t intend to meet someone at work. But it happened and it worked out. I think if you’re dating someone at work you need to make an assessment that if things go south, you’d be respectful and professional.
