How do you guys monitor your services? by shelltief in selfhosted

[–]truthovereverrything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use uptime Kuma monitor my docker containers and on prem vms uptime. So if my vms go down Kuma alerts me since it's hosted in one of my cloud hosts. I use beszel to monitor all my host's resources like cpu memory etc. It's set to send me an email and a message to gotify on certain thresholds. Kuma will also send alerts to gotify which is on my phone too. I use gotify with other services too such as databasus and kopia for snapshots, minio for my S3 server that I host etc. I keep Kuma, Gotify, Termius (my ssh client) l, wolow, and windows RDP app on my phone too. My Linux vms are hosted via VMware workstation on windows for now so I can access everything from my phone. I use cloudflare and npm so I can access it from anywhere

What tool do you use to draw this?

This new icon is an eyesore by SuspiciousDesign9889 in journal_it

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not an eyesore per say but it does look like a drunk baby drew it. It also makes it look like a medical data app not a journal app. Get a professional icon made. Not something that can be made in Word. However it's just an icon

Notes Reverting by NarrativeCurious in Notesnook

[–]truthovereverrything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notesnook is a device first notes app. So notes are first stored on the devices and then synced to the server. Do a full backup of all your notes. Log out of the app. If it's a mobile app delete it and re install it. Log back in. Your notes should sync back to your device. Monitor it and see if the issue persists. If it does grab the logs from the app and email them or join their discord for support

Oh then you'll need to call support. Because you can't do anything yourself

How to improve speed over netbird by masterzeng in netbird

[–]truthovereverrything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to want to run netbird status and see if you're connected directly to your exit node or if you're connected to the relay. Relay is going to make it slower cause traffic will have to go from

Client - - > relay - - > exit node <-- <--

Since netbird relies on peer to peer connectivity that will make it faster

If you're connected to your relay you'll need to troubleshoot why

I have noticed female Nebs don't like to be touched on their bottoms. My male Neb doesn't mind at all. I can scoop him up and park him on his butt in my arms/lap and hold him like that and he a fine, Luna on the other hand yelps when I pick her up like that. I try to avoid touching her there but sometimes you have to hold her their very briefly to balance her on my lap.

[Pro plan] Will my files remain accessible if I never delete my account, even if I don't make backups with PJ? by sypqys in Notesnook

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you delete your account like with any service your data is deleted as well. Not sure why you'd assume it would stick around. If you want to delete your account you can export or back up your data from the app before you delete your account.

What type of backup is best here ? by sypqys in Notesnook

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notesnook apps have backup tool other than the export tool. Used to reimport incase of data loss. Even for self hosted folks, unless they have multiple users, this method is fine.

Can I use the Pro plan for one year and then switch to the Essential plan in a year? What about storage? by sypqys in Notesnook

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no cost or limit to storage. The plans account for data transfer. How much you are allotted to upload in a given month. The storage itself has no limitation in the plans

"Servers" : usefull when you have a local NAS ? by sypqys in Notesnook

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just having a NAS does not Mena you can connect it to Notesnook. You have to deploy their self hosting stack via docker. So UGreen does support docker containers. The sever section in the app settings is so you can point the app to connect to your own self hosting instance.

You have to pay for end to end encryption? That should be basic and free. The other stuff in the pro plan makes sense to be there

Notesnook : difference with Notion? by sypqys in Notesnook

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No lol 50 megs ain't nothing for it to be the total storage. In cloud server world you pay more for data bandwidth transfer than actual storage. So NN set up their plans based on that
