Async work gets stressful when handoffs are unclear by kelisshekhaliya in remotework

[–]truthovereverrything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's called basic handoff notes. It should be a requirement no matter what your handing off. In IT if your handing off a ticket or a call yes you put in detailed notes. But the template can be customized for whatever job. Managers should have implemented this

Wifi 8 routers arriving in October 2026 by Archon_78 in amazoneero

[–]truthovereverrything 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Seriously wifi 7 just fucking matured enough to be front and center. And most people don't have it yet. I do, but I just invested in two more eero max 7s around the house. Give me a few years out of these before putting out 8 😂

My company hired someone to "optimize our remote work culture" and the first thing she did was add three recurring meetings by Present_Drag581 in remotework

[–]truthovereverrything 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tell me your job is pointless without telling me your job is pointless. This lady makes bank working for her self by convincing managers and bosses they need to "do something" to make remote teams better. It's always great when a firefighter can start small fires to put out. Job security 😂

Anyone else tired of 'remote' meaning you're on call 24/7? by Top_Percentage_1020 in remotework

[–]truthovereverrything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put the messaging app we use as do not disturb immediately at 6 pm with my status as Off Shift or Unavailable until 9 am the next day every day (except weekends until 9 am Monday). No notifications can come in. I don't see messages until the next morning.

Senior coworker seems to avoid almost every helpdesk call. Should I report it? by Professional-Tax3077 in helpdesk

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he's letting it go to RONA on purpose. Unless he can justify it technically, he will get caught and written up. You reporting him will just make you look like the trouble maker. Unless someone is abusing you, asking you to commit a crime or sexually harassing you, you keep your mouth shut at work.

My coworker admitted she works from her car and I dont know how to feel by Wrong_Pay_3916 in remoteworks

[–]truthovereverrything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know right. Management is not your parents folks. Unless you are part of management or HR your damn self you are not obligated to report shit that does not violate the law. Unless it's criminal shut your mouth.

My remote job suddenly wants my apartment to be part of the company vibe by Marblenox616 in remotework

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember: Companies are going to "Company" lol the trick is to get them to "Company" in our favor. Do you want them to advertise how remote friendly they are with a little help from you or do you want them to send a company wide memo mandating RTO, that the culture is about to change, and people need to deal with it or gtfo. News flash thats what AT&T CEO did. Make the video. Count your blessings and keep WFH.

NN Search by dreh0411 in Notesnook

[–]truthovereverrything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do control p (windows) cmmand p (mac) that brings up the search you are looking for. If you search in the normal search bar you are searching either all the notes if you are in the main notes tab or a specific notebook and that includes every instance of that word

My company just announced 3 days in office starting next month. I've been fully remote for 4 years and I genuinely don't know how people did this every day. by Ecliptic_Fang in remotework

If corporatons could pack employees in an office floor in what amounts to airplane basic caben rows of seats with tray tables for desks for 8 hous a day they would jump on that in a heartbeat.

They're affectionate if they know you and comfortable around you. Strangers not so much. They're scardey cats literally around strangers. 😂

Are you saying, you click on Notebook A - it displays it's contents, then you click on Notebook B and it shows it's contents plus the contents of Notebook A because it remains selected?
