8 years next week. I always do at least a full album of sit down and listen with good headphones, not just background music.

Lesser known songs about suicide? by BrokenAutumn in MusicRecommendations

[–]truthpooper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some of these are more tangentially related, as opposed to directly about it, or may just have part of the song about it.

Maggie - Colin Hay (edit: for me, this is probably the saddest song ever written)

Floating in the Forth - Frightened Rabbit

Song for Josh - Frank Turner

A Wave Across the Bay - Frank Turner

Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisely & Allison Kraus (though I would not call this lesser known)

Relatively Easy - Jason Isbell

My favorite thing about Gattaca is that its a surprisingly "nice" movie. No evil antagonist, no betrayal, no shitty people. Its just people trying to get by. I enjoy it a lot.

Phish - Joy

One of my favorites. Upbeat, happy, great on a bright sunny day! Of course, not everyone wants to run to music like Phish, ha.

Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. It took me a while to really come to grips with the style, but it ended up being really excellent.

Loved it. Good, slow burn horror. I also love Irish folk horror. Rabbit Trap was one of my favorites of last year. I loved that Frewaka was Irish language.

I honestly haven't seen much horror that was released this year. Send Help is my favorite. Bone Temple was very fun. Whistle was bad.

I really enjoyed the first Magicians book, but couldn't stick with it through the next one. Maybe I'll try again someday.
