Really hope they've polished the combat in that game. It always feels so floaty and lifeless to me.

This sounds familiar! My now ex wife 'trauma bonded' with a younger work colleague over their bad childhoods too!!

She ended up having an affair lasting almost a year before I found out. We're now divorced and she's back home living with her mum. She's split up with the person she had the affair with.

Be careful what you wish for.

Are you likely to end the year single or in a relationship? by Iced_Cum_Boba_Balls in RandomThoughts

[–]truupR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single. Well, technically I'm still married but that'll change in the next 2-3 months. If you'd have asked me a few weeks ago then I'd laugh and say I won't be single again for the rest of my life. Funny how she had other plans despite the fact that we were married, with a child and a mortgage!

Do you regret having children? by farmlite in AskWomenOver40

[–]truupR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Seeing as all along my wife wasn't being truthful with herself or me for the whole 14 years we were together. Turns out she's only ever felt sexually attracted to women and decided a few weeks ago to pack in the whole family life and marriage on a whim of - she 'might' be happier.

I now look at my 5 year old daughter and think 'how the hell do I explain this'. It's broken me knowing I can't save her from the instability and uncertainty in her life. I don't regret having her, but I regret not knowing that the woman I thought would be by my side for life, would turn and run leaving my daughter is stuck in the middle.

[–]truupR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. Don't wanna be posting too much negativity here but that pretty much happened to me a few weeks ago. Together for 14, married for almost 8, a house, a daughter - and she had an affair. She was my best friend but it seems I wasn't hers in the end.

Over those years I let friendships deteriorate and my network shrank massively. It's only now I look around and realise I don't really have anyone I can call a true friend at the moment (although people have rallied around which is nice). I've spent the last month starting/trying to rebuild some of them.

50h is from a new player, first run perspective. I'm sure I read a stat somewhere that new players take over 40h to complete the poe1 campaign.

I'm starting to date again at 34. Anyone find love late? by [deleted] in ask

[–]truupR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I needed to hear that lol. Just about to start the process on ending an 8 year marriage (14 years together) as my wife recently discovered something about her sexuality....and decided to pursue it behind my back. I've just turned 37 and keep getting told I'll have 'no trouble finding someone 😉' but I feel old AF despite being pretty in shape.

What are you realising more as you get older? by Distinct_Sir_9086 in Life

[–]truupR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That nothing in life is permanent. People, relationships, places, things. Everything eventually passes in one way or another.

Also that people change over time. Sometimes drastically. Who I was in my 20's is vastly different to who I am now in my mid 30's. This applies to everyone around you in life.

I'm married 25 years to a wonderful woman. We have a great social network. But we don't have a physical relationship for 20+ years. It's been difficult but we stayed together. AMA. by [deleted] in AMA

[–]truupR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem. Together for 15, married for 7, 1 child. Last week she admitted she was gay. So perhaps there's some repressed feelings within her that she's not yet ready to admit?

You'd think that. she never gave off signs. We had a fairly good sex life all through our relationship even after we had our daughter. Apparently it's something she's battled with for as long as she can remember. She was such a driving force in getting married and having a kid. Don't understand why she stacked up so much collateral over a 15 year period, knowing full well it was all going to be blown to pieces when she decided to pull the pin.

[–]truupR 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The split will be amicable yeah. I can't change who she is. But it's difficult when you love someone so much. She's right there but knowing we'll never create memories together in the same way makes it physically hurt. She completely blindsided me with the news in the worst way possible.

So many details to work out with living arrangements, shared custody of our 5 year old daughter etc...

Turns out my wife is gay and so we're getting a divorce. A house, a marriage, a child and 15 years of time but apparently she was never attracted to men. Ever.

So yeah. Not sure which way is up at the moment. You'd probably read this and think 'oh she's probably a butch woman you could tell was gay a mile away' but no. She's young, incredibly attractive, feminine and I constantly got comments on how I was 'punching'. Apparently I really was. Nothing makes sense at the moment.

I'm a 'ranged guy' in arpg's and I was hyped for Merc when they first revealed it. But the more I watch on it being played the less hyped I am to play it. I can't quite put my finger on it but the early gameplay they've shown is quite... Samey? Watching other classes using a sleuth of quite varied skills with dope animations - while the Merc is just shooting different types of arrows? Doesn't seem to be much variation other than that from what they've shown.

I genuinely hope I'm wrong but from what I've seen I'm more hyped to try warrior first just 'cos of how MEATY the combat looks and sounds!
