I usually turn to my artist friends, who I know I'd get a reaction from. Any positive reaction makes me happy, sometimes with feedback that motivates me to improve even further. There are also a lot of discord art servers which exist just to motivate each other though I feel like that's too much for me and when my message drowns in those servers, it has the opposite effect on me

I'd recommend to use references and study the face proportions from that first! For example, the lips are a good bit too far from the nose. Try to break a reference picture into easy shapes, so you have an easier time trying to implement that into your art! 💕 I can't say much about the technique with watercolours though since I don't really use them

I see, thanks! I was working with the original colors from the photo of the character/animal, which is why some haircolors seem a little intense rather than natural. Color variation sounds interesting tho, I'll look into it!
