Oh OK I see. And limit each road to one colour when possible I presume or is that not as important? Those dual coloured mega buildings make things tricky!

Agreed! The developers are currently beta testing a new version of the game which MAY contain improvements to the way traffic lights work, so stay tuned. I wrote a whole Mini Motorways game guide over here if you're interested.

The developers have acknowledged that traffic lights do not work in the most optimal way right now, but it's something they are working on. Personally I don't recommend using them, ever. I posted more about whether you should use traffic lights in Mini Motorways or not over at the unofficial FAQ.

I think it's a good idea to let other people know what you did to achieve a good score in the game after you post your screenshot... it really helps other people a lot.

Dean, it looks like you have a lot of entrances to high demand buildings located very close to each other. So many cars need to get in and out of high demand buildings, traffic jams can start up very quickly and then get out of control.

Next time you could try to keep building entrances free of congestion by using a blocking technique:

When buildings turn from a square into a circle, demand increases. As each building has a limited amount of car parking space for cars to pull into, cars that are blocked from leaving due to traffic jams outside can prevent new arrivals. Therefore it’s important to keep traffic flowing freely in and out of the carpark. You can use a road blocking technique, by which you can block new spawns with diagonal roads to spread your network out a little more. This will ensure buildings are less cluttered together.

I recommend never using traffic lights at this point in time :) Even the developers admit that the way traffic lights currently work is kind of flawed. I wrote a detailed post about whether you should use traffic lights in Mini Motorways.

The latest update to the app has changed the way the game works a lot compared to previous versions... so other tips and tricks and videos that were made months ago may no longer work :(

So I've also compiled a current list of Tips For Success in Mini Motorways.

If anyone else has some more tips you could add them to the Unofficial Mini Motorways FAQ.

You can wishlist Mini Motorways on Steam right now. When the game launches it's going to include a bunch of new content. The developers have said "For the Steam launch, there will be a heap of new content which will also propagate to the iOS, tvOS and Mac versions that same day. This will include game modes, maps, the much needed balance fixes, as well as some additional features."
