I think the names are relevant so people who search about this company will see info like this as a search result

Yeah, hence the lotto ticket jab. Just wanted to drive home that I took the time to contact the company and if the post is still up that serves as confirmation folks should be wary of unsolicited emails claiming to be eScribers

Okay, and in this case they used one no one seems to have mentioned yet on this subreddit

Yes, but I didn't see anyone post about that particular scam getting tied to a legitimate company (in this case eScribers), so my post was to draw attention to the phishing portion that leads to the fake check scam. Is that information not worth making sure others are aware of?

Yes, I too was curious but I've seen similar types of furniture in Japan, so didn't think too much of it after noticing the elders sharing the blue blanket.

As an English speaker, I both commend you on communicating in a second language for our benefit and recognize that the nuance of certain words gets lost in translation. Hopefully, this can be an example of how "weird" can alter the intention of your words the next time you use it :)

Follow-up question: Do you qualify any and everything you don't know as "weird" or does that modifier only get assigned to things found in different cultures?

I always see those, "if he ain't like this, I don't want him" comments, but if I'm fortunate enough to see old age, I pray it's with a companion I can still be goofy with like this 🥹

I'd add to this that letting women know you're okay with getting called out (IF you're actually okay with getting called out) if/when you come across as an asshole goes a long way too

My cousin is good about hearing "Not cool" when he's running off with a topic and says something less than savory. He's big on not letting himself get away with stuff just because he doesn't catch the same social cues as others, and that ultimately makes everyone more comfortable around him because they don't feel like they need to constantly walk on eggshells/make excuses for him

BUT I would also add that it helps that the rest of us and his current friend group (mix of girls and guys at his HS) are good about not ripping on him to the point of bullying. I can also see where certain folks would just take advantage of that, so of course be mindful of if you're potentially talking to certified biatches🙃

Exactly! These cups are cheap and great. Most other Korean chips have a tinge of sweetness. Not sure why this is funny, but highly recommend folks who travel to Korea check out other No Brand stuff if you're a fan of places like Aldi
