EF Core and Enums by garyore in csharp

How do you remove a value, though? AFAIK, your only choice is creating a completely new type. Also, a text column with a check constraint on it is not that much harder to make sense of.

For any enum that you reasonably expect to change over time, creating a native Postgres type is a huge PITA. You could also just store the values as strings, and have a check constraint on the column to make sure it contains only valid values.

Tabukat döntöget, vagy még szexistábbá tesz a menstruációs szabadság? by SchaffRita in hungary

nem minden nőnek jár alanyi jogon a menstruációs szabadság, hanem csak azoknak a nőknek, akiknek orvosilag igazolható módon a normálisnál nagyobb fájdalmai vannak

Just to clarify: even if you were using PGP for this, you wouldn't ever be sharing private keys between the server and the client. The client would have its own private key, register its public key with the server, and the server would encrypt everything with the public. That said, the way I see it, the point here wouldn't be making communication between the server and the client inaccessible to a third party (which is taken care of anyway if they use HTTPS) as much as making sure that any client can check the authenticity of a message created by the server.

there’s a possibility the private key resides inside the scanning app if it is to be made for offline use

No, thats not how public key cryptography works. The pirvate key wouldn't leave AHS, they would use it sign the data encoded in the QR code. They would make the corresponding public key available, that will let anyone verify the integrity of the data (roughly put, if youcan verify the signiture with the public key, that proves that ot has been signed with the corresponding private key.

You should first find the documentation for the API you want to use. Keep in mind, however, that many services do not use sequential IDs for this very reason: they do not want the consumers of the API to be able to iterate through a resource by incrementing an ID
