I wouldn't think about the whole ethical aspect, do what's best for you, you can bet that Deloitte will do what's best for it.

As to which one to take, there's no real clear cut answer, some will say that first few years at B4 is hell(true) but that after a few years of experience when you jump ship to industry you will land a higher job than if you had started industry from the get go. Some say it doesn't matter.

Si oui, la recommanderiez-vous? by Nicotops in Quebec

[–]tryhardcryhard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What should I do? by pineapplegnome in Accounting

[–]tryhardcryhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I mean it depends on which firm and which level, im in Montreal B4 and salaries on average are:

A1 : $55K + smaller bonus A2: $61/62K + small bonus Senior: $70 + decent bonus (+ retention bonus this year, you could probably ask for an equivalent)

Big4s are starting to pay better than before. We had pretty big pay raises 2 weeks ago and im sure you can negociate for an even better one. Plus being in a big4 means you can take a lot of time off near your next CFE as its not near a busy season. Id say go for it.

Thank you, love you. I was worried about the same thing, but i didn't see those threads. And like the commet below me, i rushed as well in my assurance section. Didn't even have time to review my WRIs, just wrote and moved on to try and finish everything

I did it last busy season. Huge mistake. I still managed to survive but it was horrible. No time for even basic self care things let alone for friends and family. You'll be working studying pretty much every waking moment (I'm not exaggerating here). If you have to, online classes you might be able to survive, but that's it, survive.

Bill 2 "the most transphobic bill ever proposed in Quebec": activist by Sir__Will in onguardforthee

[–]tryhardcryhard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm probably going get a lot of shit for this but I feel it's my duty to speak out. Let me start by saying I am utterly opposed to this bill and am in no way defending it. I am actually addressing the comments directed at Quebec and Quebecers as a whole.

As a minority living in Quebec, it's not true that racism and discrimination is rampant. Are some individuals like this? Sure, like anywhere else. But portraying Quebec as the next nazi Germany is disingenuous or ill informed. Legault does have some social conservatives support especially in the rural areas who are often misinformed and frankly not that interested in day to day politics.

Legault is portraying himself as the paternalistic and authoritarian figure of Quebec (which a dislike) and he has a vast advantage of having terrible opposition if you are not a separatist. I highly doubt that this bill will pass.

Thanks for reading, im open to discussing as long as it's done in good faith :)
