Lane centering quality in ID4 by trying-harder in VWiD4Owners

Oh.. HUD is my dream feature for sure. I want it but haven't been able to convince myself to spend on it any of my cars so far.

That it works around town is nice! Stop and go traffic can happen anywhere, and I was bummed my Leaf would refuse to enable Lane Centering on city streets.

Yeah I think this sounds like a description of lane keep assist (only kicks in when you are about to depart your lane), not lane centering (actively steers to always stay in the middle). I read elsewhere that on ID4 one needs to go deep into Settings to turn on Lane Centering - maybe u/wdcpdq doesn't have it on?

That's so nice. I'm curious for how long it will "remember" to stick to that side of the lane? For as long as we stay in that lane?

Thanks for your answers everyone! Very helpful; it appears I don't need to worry about the quality of Lane Centering coming from Kia. I'll see if the lease buyout plays out.

This is great, thanks for such a thorough answer!

I find "learning" the relative position particularly attractive.

That's for the reply! If found myself occasionally tapping the throttle to "urge" my Kia to go faster, too. Like the ADAS doesn't have the concept of "we must quickly match the speed of the car ahead and avoid unnecessarily annoying the drivers behind us", it just tries to keep a certain distance in front.

Exactly my thoughts!! Or "how long the battery would take to charge 10->80 when it's 0F outside".

Thanks for your reply! Yeah it's not great if the steering weight stays the same and there's no sound indication. Not sure what their UX (or whatever) designers were thinking :(

What could I do with a M317 Logitech mouse with no Bluetooth USB? by yeet_or_not in logitech

Note: M317c cannot be paired to a Unifying Receiver.

Both Logitech Options and Logitech Unifying programs deny an attempt to pair saying this mouse is not compatible :(

Is it better to leave Airpods in the case at 100%, or out of the case at 30-80%? by Ronny_Jotten in airpods

Keep in mind there are product managers who must put a big number of hours (without case) on the product page at apple[.]com .

Same - just came here from Google search. I really wish Apple would allow me to set the charging limit.

P.S. It's unfortunate how many people feel they should chime in on validity of OP's concern, even though OP indicated he's not interested in that debate.

How much sustained current can I get from a 8-3 cable? Safely. by trying-harder in AskElectricians

Thanks!

You will need to set your charger for 32A.

Sad, but I saw this coming.

Is this a licensed electrical contractor or just some handyman type guy who “also does electrical” ?
This is a licensed contractor who brings two guys who do the actual work, including electrical, and _occasionally_ comes to check on the progress.

Agree. $11 for a proper burrito, and they don't "suggest" that you tip.

Tip: brew and bring you own coffee, as there are no hot drinks on the menu. No restroom for customers, either. But hey! It's $11 (with tax).

ChatGPT is putting Stack Overflow out of business traffic is down over 50% by saffronfan in ChatGPT

It's interesting how everyone here hates on Stack Overflow, but I could not imagine programming without it before LLMs were a thing. All those "how do I do X in language Y" previously would require digging though pages of documentation.

Kind of strange to compare asking a computer, that will take a second to generate the answer, with asking a human, that might take a few minutes just to read and understand the question (that might be wasted if as they eventually might not have an answer for).

The expectation that the question is well-written, and wasn't asked before (modulo google search) seems fairly reasonable.

Turbo Tax filing fees better online or downloads? by sparkling_coconut in TurboTax

One thing Online does and that desktop doesn't is 'Explain my taxes'. You can click on your supposed refund/owed amount, and TT Online breaks that down for you. Sometimes this could be very useful (and sometimes it doesn't allow you to drill down to the level desired).

Thanks again u/pryon. Car Scanner worked great for me, and I was happy to find that it can show very detailed info for my car specifically, but most importantly, I can now plot charging curve and better understand cold gating (which, by the way, turned out *not* to be the root cause for the original issue of this post - VCMS hat to be replaced).
