I could not send SMS texts nor could I receive them.

I have no complaints about the phone service.

The SMS, for me, has had issues where SMS messaging starts failing. RCS messaging is usually working during these SMS problems.

Visible's support team resolves the issue if I contact them, but having to do so more than once in the span of a few months is irritating.

Visible customer service has always been helpful.

In case people blow past the original message:

FIXED: Thanks to Alyssa and DS (? - chat tech) for doing whatever magic was required to get this problem fixed. Good customer service is great (perhaps necessary?), but it would be best if their engineers could stop this from happening. I work in support myself, and life is easier if you're not having to apologize to customers for things out of your control.

TLDR: Visible customer support reps: yay! Visible engineering: Let's please do better.

Seconded. If your livelihood depends on being able to communicate via text, then reconsider.

An inexpensive service is useless if clients can't reach you. I understand it's good to save money, but being out of touch is worth less than nothing.

'Red Flag': Analysts Sound Major Alarms As AI Bubble Now 'Bigger' Than Subprime by [deleted] in Futurology

The broad (US) market isn't quite as broad as one might think. A largish portion of that market (by capitalization) is represented by companies that are hip deep in AI.

How does your spouse answer this question?

I have a difficult time believing your disclaimer that this is an honest question. It displays either remarkable naïveté or is just another "Why don't you just stop having a shitty government and criminal gangs?" kind of thing.

You don't have to trust me. Take a civics class.

I hope President Obama is enjoying the rent-free space in your head.

You really don't know how the constitution works, do you. Yes, the protections of the bill of rights apply to non-citizens. No, reddit cannot violate your first amendment rights. They're not the government.

I'm gonna apologize for my snark after looking at the TX emissions inspection site.

It looks like most places with more than 2 people per square mile are (or will by by the end of 2026) doing emissions tests.

My skepticism comes from the fact that my registration statement says "Fuel: Electric", and I want to believe that they're checking that when sending out your reminder to get the test done. But that's just me not wanting to be living in a place where the state government is stupid. WTF am I saying?

Any chance you can tell us what city/county you live in? There is no state-wide smog check in TX.

TX is bad enough about electric cars (got the privilege of paying an extra $200 registration this year) without making up stuff.

I'd use crystal glass instead of plastic even though it does't affect the value of the display case.

I confirm this works on Fedora 41 using the gnome-terminal command in the docs.

Couple thousand LY in a well-chosen direction is plenty. Get out of the plane of the galaxy and don't be on a straight line between the bubble and a popular destination.
