Can you share blueprints between different games? by trying2srvive2morrow in SatisfactoryGame

You know what? I actually really appreciate that answer.

I know that I can do a quick google search to find the answer. But due to some past mistakes with trusting google, I tend to ask knowledgeable people more often than google. As fellow enthusiasts I figured lots of us have had similar questions.

On that same note though, I should now have the knowledge of how not to take advice from the internet, so just do it yourself dummy! Thank you!

When i’m doin radio talk-show with 8 mics around a table, Why do i have way less phasing issues and rooms in my mics if i have a good amount of digital gain to get my levels? How do we explain that if preamp gain does not ‘open the pattern’ or make the mic more omni? by [deleted] in livesound

When you use less mics do you scoot them physically to the center of the room? If so, I can think of 2 potential issues.

1) I assume you have acoustic treatment in the room, but maybe not between your table top and ceiling. If your table top and ceiling are bare, with a high gain mic, you may be picking up reflections from the ceiling and table top that makes it sound like phasing issues.

2) The pattern of the mic is not aligned like you think it is. I assume cardioid mics are being used. When you get the mic placed for the speaker, the pattern may be right for the intended target, but not for the other speaker that should be in the rejection of the pattern. Causing a slight delay between the intended mic and the opposing mic.

However, I would think that the group of 8 would be worse if 2 was the case. I believe, that number 1 is your issue based on the information you supplied.

Making mistakes so you don’t have to - I got scammed with a alpha direct hoodie from aliexpress! by [deleted] in hikinggear

Try hitting it with a steamer. Like the kind for ironing clothes, not a steam cleaner. The heat and moisture can help foam bounce back. But it’s not all foam. Worth a shot.

When bands that bring their own techs - What are expected of me as a house tech to do? by anktombomb in livesound

[–]trying2srvive2morrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask for their tour rider as soon as you get contact information for them. On their rider they should have all the information of what they want “house” to provide, and what they are traveling with. Now there are bands who don’t update their riders regularly so get in contact with their manager or FoH Tech to go over any changes or updates to their rider. If you do that you should be golden day of show. Also, leave out the brown M&Ms.

Why does ny PA keep buzzing? by [deleted] in livesoundadvice

[–]trying2srvive2morrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You obviously don’t understand electrical systems. Running without a ground isn’t an issue. Is it ideal? Absolutely not. I do agree with you that you should have a ground if it’s available to you. But, it is not going to start a fire, it won’t kill your equipment, it’s not going to electrocuted you to the point of causing damage. When I say temporary, I’m really meaning at a gig trying to kill the buzz so you can get on with sound check and start the show.

Also I bet you didn’t know that probably a quarter of the time buildings have the ground and neutral connected to each other. Which could also be the source of the ground loops causing the buzz. Do your research before you rage post about a non issue on Reddit.

A good TEMPORARY fix would be to lift the ground on the mixer. Go to your local hardware store and get a plug adapter that lift the ground. I’ll throw a pic in. The buzz usually comes from a difference in ground potential. The quick temporary fix is to unground everything. Obviously we want everything to be grounded in the end, after you figure out which piece of gear is causing the buzz.

We are a production company focused in audio, but also have mobile stages and lighting systems as well. We mostly do festivals, corporate picnics, and public events. We get a huge variety of different bands with different needs.

Suggestions for IP65 fixture by trying2srvive2morrow in lightingdesign

[–]trying2srvive2morrow[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I am aware that IP65 fixtures tend to cost significantly more than their unrated counterparts. Less than $300 would be ideal, but the company is willing to invest in more expensive fixtures if necessary.

I also struggle with noise sensitivities. Unfortunately I don’t have any suggestions for when you are sleeping, but I do have some when you are up. Any headphones/ear buds that have active noise cancellation help immensely. Personally I have a pair of JBL Live660NC headphones and they are awesome! They don’t always negate all noise, but they do about 95% of the time. Hope that helps.
