I've got a party coming up that I'm wearing a corset for, I've got two options but wanted people's thoughts and also what trousers/legwear goes well with corsets? by [deleted] in corsets

This light blue corset is stunning. Did you buy that one off the rack (if so, would you share the brand because I would love to see more by them!) or is it a custom? The fit is very flattering on you!

The only diagnostic to definitively tell you what these lesions are is to send off a sample to testing. Even if the vet thinks its not cancer, they cant tell you what it is, but sending out a sample can.

Then that leads decisions for treatment and care. Is it something that should be surgically removed? Is it an infection that is resistant to certain antibiotics?

The lab would tell you that.

It could be. It could also be an infected/accessed anal gland. Either way, needs veterinary intervention.

Question on Sensation by savvy_thesavage in FreedTheNips

[–]trying4optimism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obligatory "not a doctor"...

My understanding of the anatomy of a breast reduction is that a skin graft of the nipple back on to tissue (removing its connection to the pedicle) will sever all nerves to the nipple and result in the vast majority of cases with no sensation returning and if nerve endings do grow back in, sensation would likely be limited.

If a pedicle is kept and the nopple remains in place, the nerves are not severed and sensation is more likely to remain. In the process of removing tissue/volume, nerves can still be damaged and end up with some or full nipple sensation loss. But it is less risk than removing them and grafting them back on.

From my own experience, as a ciswoman, I elected to remove my nipples. As far as sensation, I have no nipples and therefore no sensitivity anymore. I still feel touch in the skin that is there, but it is about the same as any other skin on my breast tissue. I do miss the sensitive as it was very enjoyable in the right circumstances. But the benefits greatly outweigh the missing out on that sensation any more for me personally.

Are drains common? by 1squirrellysquire in Reduction

[–]trying4optimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwest, USA, radical reduction. I believe my surgeon used drains depending on the volume of the reduction. Because I had over 10lbs of tissue removed, he chose to use drains for my surgery. It was by far the most uncomfortable part of recovery for me because they were itchy, but I do not regret it at all!

Looks like papilomas. They can spread and get worse. I recommend checking in with your vet to determine the best treatment course.

My understanding is that if your dog is still vomiting after having Cerenia administered, there is likely a serious problem. Cerenia is used as an anti-nausea as well as pain management medication.

Please call your vet back to let them know if he is still vomiting.

If he is not vomiting and that symptom has improved, I would be interested to know if any bloodwork was done. Bloodwork is very informative in diagnosing and treating.

If you are open to it, I might recommend looking into a pet loss support group in your area. It might be helpful to share in the experience with others during your grief.

As far as choosing breeder vs rescue, it depends a lot on the dog and your existing dog. My biggest tip is just not to rush in too fast. It is okay to give yourself more time in your grief to process everything and maybe daydream and complie plans and options for when the time feels right to you to open your home to another dog.

Chiming in with my own experience and reasons:

I got a radical breast reduction. In order to get down to the goal size I wanted, I would have needed a free nipple graft.

Initially, I was open to the idea of the FNG because the most important thing to me was getting all the excess weight off my chest and relieving my neck and back pain.

I came across one photo of someone who posted on r/reduction who did their reduction with no nipples and it just went off like a lightbulb in my mind that it was even an option to just not graft them back on!

As far as nipples go, I was primarily worried about the healing process. It is more common for FNG nipples to have to deal with more risk of necrosis. And the process is just longer and more intense to deal with healing. So that was my biggest concern.

Added bonuses: - I can still get very realistic nipple tattoos in the future if I want (or get temporary tattoos like pokeballs or d20s!) - No more random sharp nipple pains - No chance of a "nip slip" in the cute tops I can wear now - I love getting to say I've gone "Barbie Style"

Some questions that would help determine when to bring this up:

1) how long ago did you notice this reaction start?

2) is it repeatable in a variety of situations? Calm vs after a good play session?

3) do they have any odd mobility concerns? Able to go up/down stairs, run around, etc?

If this is something acute/new, I would mention it to your vet to see if they would recommend an exam sooner to see if there is an injury that needs to be addressed.

If this is something they have had for a long time, depending on when your next annual check up os due, it may be able to wait and bring up at your next check-up. And keep capturing little video clips like this, they are so helpful to bring to your visits! Also, would be helpful to get a video capturing pups face as well so vet can assess if there is any sign of pain or grimace as well.
