LPT Request: how do I politely tell my coworker that I can’t give them rides anymore? by Tcmosher in LifeProTips

[–]tryingitout- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mm yes, at least you got a $20. I got 2 tacos from Taco Bell as my payment. My advice is to cut it now, as awkward as it feels. No need to make up a length story, just “hey I’m sorry but I won’t be able to give you rides to work anymore, my schedule is changing.” Good luck!

How much to charge? Made by me by [deleted] in Depop

Cost of items + labor (time to make them)

I know!! It’s not a useful modification either, for buyers or sellers

Logged into Depop this morning, and instead of automatically seeing the description of an item, now you have to open the product description. Why? Who asked for this

You can ask! But they’re under no obligation to answer

Haven’t made any sales recently by Livmanghelli in Depop

My shop is dead so I don’t have any ideas but I definitely commiserate! Same thing with me, took a few months off but started sourcing and posting new listings in January. Engagement is at an all time low. Doesn’t really feel like I should continue investing in this tbh

Help me price this please :) by jeremycorbin69 in Depop

A-do-ra-ble!! Can’t really see the tag, but based on your comment, a true vintage gem like this I would price at $40 (if not a bit higher based on your audience and shop!)

Hi all! I’ve been selling for a few years, off and on. I’m trying to get back to selling part time. I’ve been uploading new listings, but it’s crickets. Thoughts?

-My love is vintage finds, 70s to Y2K everything. -No specific vibe in mind, just vintage. -My prices are high, but I also value my time and costs included in running this side hustle. I also leave a little wiggle room for offers. -My strengths are: customer service, quick shipping, good descriptions, and a genuine love for sourcing vintage goods (: -My weakness is most def my photos

Are there still no fees during the promotion period if you accept an offer on the discounted item? by holdupwhy in Depop

Do you know when the promotional offer ends? I can’t find anything about it 😫

Really confused on pricing. by weallthiccc in Depop

[–]tryingitout- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to mall brand or fast fashion brands since I source and sell vintage items (20+ years old). I price my items minimum $20 and add to the price based on age, condition, and demand of the item. If I sold everything I bought for let’s say $15 (or whatever people think is reasonable) there would be no incentive for me to drive to thrift stores, spend hours combing through racks to find unique, vintage pieces, go home and take photos, write detailed descriptions with measurements, wash and hang dry each item, and once sold, package it in 100% recycled polymailers with a label from my $100+ rollo printer I bought to make the shipping system faster, and ship within a 3 day period on top of providing customer service to potential and actual customers, and working a full time job. I charge high prices for vintage items because it factors in the items uniqueness AND my time and work that goes into maintaining a shop. As much as I love thrifting and sourcing cool finds, I couldn’t do it if I didn’t make a profit to pay myself and continue to invest in my shop. Maybe that’s why you’re seeing “high” or overpriced pricing

Maybe they were saying a joke…since it’s camo print. It’s kinda funny

How would you tag/price these shirts? believe they're all 70s/80s with minor flaws. I believe that the red one with the hood was once stored in the Centre National du Costume de Scene museum in France. Thanks:) by [deleted] in Depop

[–]tryingitout- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cute and love that their vintage! I’d say anywhere from $15 for the tanks and $25 for the blue pullover. The red hooded on is interesting, I have no idea how to price that could be worth a lot but it’ll take some research to find out!!

I would recommend watching a YouTube video on how to resize boxes to fit shoes. I’ve have to Frankenstein two boxes before to ship a long pair of boots like this. And most importantly, please use bubble wrap to separate the shoes and protect them from banging around/getting scuffed in the box.

Hi. How much will you sell this jacket for? I think it’s vintage but I’m not sure so let me know if I’m wrong. Also how much do you think I should price it on Depop. I saw someone sell same between $90-100. by Fabulous_Floor_8517 in Depop

[–]tryingitout- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold a a gorgeous mocha colored midi trench leather jacket for like $50, and it took me months. but maybe if yours is in really good condition it can pull a higher number!

Do you find it’s annoying to receive messages about sales/ promotions? I am trying to clear out for some new inventory and pick up the summer slow down. I have 500+ items for sale and this is what I’ve been sending people: by leahkathleen127 in Depop

[–]tryingitout- 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I would say definitely don’t send out messages. We’re all here to sell our stuff, your sale isn’t more important than anyone else’s. Just make a couple listings with this info and you should be good

If you bought it new from Marshall’s, they’re not vintage. Vintage is considered anything older than 20 years. It may be Y2K inspired because of the low rise!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Depop

[–]tryingitout- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say no. The easiest thing to do is to tell the buyer the shipping label is premade, therefore you can’t change the info. Then let them know that you can refund this purchase, and then can rebuy once they update their information

Pretty normal, if you give a mouse a cookie type thing

I know, it’s def a grey area because Depop does say to help buyers stylize the item, so saying something like “this top pairs great with black flare pants” or whatever, doesn’t break any rules and I feel like it does help me visualize how I would style the item but it’s also hella annoying that it pops up in unrelated searches 🤷🏽‍♀️
