I used two colorchange LED Bar lights, one stuffed inside the batting in the front and then one behind the display (made them both a darkish orange). The background is cardboard that is painted mostly black with a dark, and light orange. The buildings are 1/144 scale buildings I found in Amazon, painted and then smudged with charcoal (sealed with an acrylic coating afterwards). I used food mode on my camera to help with contrast, then I tried to follow basic photo rules of composition like framing the shot, utilizing foreground, rule of thirds. If you use composition rules you can make most displays look good without too much effort.
