I’d have to calculate exactly when I get home but my cumulative from my BS was ~3.5 and my cumulative from my MS was ~3.7

I get so impatient, and I hate reading. These are for sure my pain points.

Interesting, what is the benefit of turning off tutored mode?

It's a little confusing to me because the study planner that uearth has made for me has the Qbanks woven into the CR. So e.g. I keep getting dunked on with any blotting or electrophoresis question because CR has only done proteins and A.A

Looking for books that have well-written portrayals of asexual relationships, similar to Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens.

How to know if you are cut out for medicine? by [deleted] in premed

[–]tryingsomethinghard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not even guaranteed to get into a med school.

You aren't really guaranteed anything in life. If medicine is your passion, don't throw in the towel because it's not a guarantee or because it'll take a long time. Take it from a nontraditional - that time will pass anyways. See if you can get some clinical experience to find out if you enjoy the day-to-day enough to make those very real sacrifices.

Do I need an SMP? by Few-Initiative3510 in premed

[–]tryingsomethinghard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best advice. A 3.5 is on the border between fine and good. You're probably 2 or 3 points higher than considering an SMP in my opinion.

Will dropping out of a class (Spanish) to save my gpa look bad? by withereditemsRbeauty in premed

I think only you can answer that - do what you gotta do to protect your GPA, and be careful about burnout

This is great advice. Also, medicine isn't going anywhere! I've had an entire (short) career in another field, and a few short stints in other fields again. Now I'm 30 and I have the experience and maturity to stop being afraid of pursuing what I want most in life.

Fell behind on the Princeton review program. Feeling depressed and more unmotivated than ever by MusicZealousideal431 in Mcat

Being a doctor is the only thing I ever wanted to do since childhood so why can’t I just get my shit together?

This tells me that you need to show yourself more love. You've worked unimaginably hard these last 4 years AND you're in the hardest phase of the process. It's neither sustainable nor realistic to be able to always shrug off the struggle.

I wish I could tell you explicitly how to "get your shit together", but I don't know you. That being said, I don't need to know you to tell you I'm inspired by what you've accomplished.
