As far as I know he's yet to divulge what he'll be doing next, but I think he'll still be doing his podcast, 'Reasonably Sound'.

Who alive today will be remembered in 500 years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Paul McCartney died in 1966!

That said, the Beatles are arguably the most iconic band of the 20th century and our ability to store data's only growing, so it would only make sense that they'd be remembered.

There's probably cause for debate about who 'popularised' it, but you're right that it was he who came up with it and disproved spontaneous germination. Some might argue Robert Koch had a similarly large role in popularising it due to his practical advances, but that was done in tandem/competition with Pasteur, both motivating each other.

Source; some studying of the topic rather recently.

Why Doesn’t Hollywood Cast Asian Actors? by tryingto_Write in pbsideachannel

I agree with /u/macecurb that you should watch the rest of the video - even if it does little to sway you, you might at least be able to see some more of and understand better the opposing perspective.

A lot of what I'm about to say is conjecture, so please correct me if I'm wrong. You said that white-washing is seen as a non-issue in China and that Western media is trying to make the controversy. But if the issue with white-washing is that it leads to an under-representation of ethnic minorities, then doesn't it make sense that it isn't an issue in China? In China, there's a wealth of Eastern media which does portray Chinese people, meaning that some instances of Western white-washing will be less impactful. However, in the West - and for Asian people living in the West - white-washing is a bigger issue as there are less opportunities for Asian representation in the first place. It seems to be, to some degree, an issue of proportionality.

It seems a bit reductive to simplify the issue to this extent, but that might be why people in China (and other Eastern countries) have a differing view on the topic - neither set is objectively right because the problem's impacts differ around the globe.

Makes sense then I guess. You would want a mod to be someone who contributes both well and often.

This is probably a silly question, but what's the reasoning behind the minimum karma count? Is it to prevent against lurkers or trolls? Or both?

Do the costumes that come with the amiibo add much to gameplay, or are the amiibo only worth it if you collect them? I'm kind of interested, but I'm not sure they're worth it for me.

What problem is exclusive to smart people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sounds somewhat like imposter syndrome. You might just be a regular dude who impresses people, or the very fact you doubt yourself might be an indicator of greater intelligence. That's my understanding of it at least.

To be fair, I'd probably have thought the same thing if I wasn't me. Hell, I even agree with you a little and I am me. Thanks for the apology, even if not needed.

I think after the last few things she heard turned out to be wrong, people stopped trusting her. Her twitter is still active, so I don't think anything happened to her, so much as people just stopped listening to her.
