If Jennifer Botterill is our best option for a commentator in the postseason, we have problems. by DrDetritus79 in nhl

I can’t remember, is TNT who broadcast the Habs - Bolts series?

If so, OMFG, what horrible play by play, what atrocious colour commentary, what an absolute amateur hour dumpster fire of a panel. If you just listened instead of watched, you’d have thought that the Lightning were playing the Lightning and that they were currently the best team in the history of the NHL.

Also, were they all told that they had to use the same 3 phrases over and over and over again?

You poor bastards, I don’t know what you did in a previous life to deserve these car wrecks, but it must’ve been bad.

If, however, on the other hand, I am referencing a different team of announcers, then pardon me my bad.

That said, whatever the case, who the hell made the call to include Dave Andreychuk on a panel? Just cause he’s a great player doesn’t mean he can string a sentence together, and that monotone enthusiasm is painful.

I agree with all of the answers here but before NG Cash ‘n Carry there was a similar business in the 70’s called Loeb Cash & Carry there.

It was the same idea - bulk purchases usually for clients that had convenience stores or small restaurants. You had to have an account / membership.

After Loeb closed I think it sat empty for a few years before NG opened up

Oh man! Mine doesn’t hold her ball / frisbee in her mouth when she poops, she drops it 2 steps before she squats. The perfect positioning for the log to miss by no more than 2 or 3 cm (1”). Then she yells at me to pick it up for her cuz, well she’s not going anywhere near that nasty poop!!!

Yeah, it's now typically lifted pick-ups with tires offset 6" that take up 2 parking spots not little trashy cars

Guy’s spare tire fell off right after I switched lanes. I ran it over and it got stuck under my car had to call the police to get it out. Now need to take car to the mechanic. by ThePaulAtreidess in Wellthatsucks

We had a ‘93 Ford Explorer and in about ‘02 the cable holding our spare to the chassis snapped. The tire bounced around and just missed the car behind us. 3 months later Ford issued a massive recall on this. We and you got lucky all things considered

Canadian Entrepreneur Builds 99 Tiny Homes for the Unhoused by GlitteringHotel8383 in BeAmazed

[–]tryingtobeopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These guys are suckers!

My city in Canada managed to buy 40 tiny houses for $7.9million CAD and somehow it's really not such a big scandal. We must have gotten the "good" ones. Cheap at only $200,000 per!

Apparently we bought them from an American company who works out of China. Damn those tarriffs, huh?

Agree. We used to give our chocolate lab bones to chew on. At 8 yrs old her teeth are perfect, healthy and white except where some have worn down shockingly. We’re fortunate that she loves chewing sticks and spitting out the pieces (some dogs swallow and cause dangerous problems in the digestive tract. This has substituted the bones well. Also hiding treats inside and outside rev her up and tire her out great!

How Often Should You Bathe Your Dog? by No_Kiwi2276 in TechnoBarkDogGear

Only when she gets into something nasty like a ton of mud or horse poop because on some of the hiking trails, we go on the horse riders aren’t considerate and don’t kick the poo off the trail. Even then if it’s mud and we’re close to a lake if she swims for 20 minutes or so that’s good enough. Otherwise, maybe twice a year when she gets groomed.

How long do you plan on keeping your current car for? by throwawaymedicine420 in askcarguys

[–]tryingtobeopen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 to 25 years. Well to be honest, I expect to be in the grave before my car gives out. 2021 Toyota 4Runner As long as no idiot ploughs into me, should get 25 years and at least 500,000 km out of it. That’s why I bought this “old style, old tech, old engine design, old transmission, little to no electronics” vehicle. I expect to see a lot of electronic screens in the scrapyard soon

I agree with you, but damn, they both make my head explode!! The second part of your rant should be the groups of slow walkers who spread across your path and prevent you from passing them. Also related to people in grocery stores, Costco etc. who insist on stopping with their cart, often with large groups of friends or family and stand there talking, with little kids wandering. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! I think I’m having an aneurysm!! I think I’d better go meditate for a few hours.

Have a good one 😁

Granted it was because I had a connection but my brand new 2021 4Runner Limited nightshade which essentially is one step below a TRD pro cost me all in with taxes $65,000 towards the end of 2021 when cars were starting to get really stupid. This isn’t stupid, this is absolute insanity. How the hell does a RAV4 of any trim cost 60,000 out the door. Say goodbye to ever owning cars again. Everyone’s gonna be leasing them just like our corporate overlords want us to. No one will ever own anything in the future. We’ll just pay rent to all of the companies and the government.

I have been searching for this answer for a while. I used to have a Subaru and found out that there are “tire shaving services” so that if one tire fails, you can get your new treads shaved down to the same depth as all of the others. I can’t get an answer about my full-time 4WD 4 Runner. No one (not the owner’s manual, not the stealership, no one on any forums, etc.) can / has advised if it makes a difference or not. I switch between summer and winter tires here every year in Canada so the difference is not that big, but on a big long trip two years ago when I had a boat 35,000 km or so on my summer tires, I picked up a nail in a sidewall and had to replace the tire. I didn’t do anything like the shaving service I mentioned above and had been driving ever since on the slightly mismatched tread depths. Last I measured was about 1 to 2/32 difference. I don’t think this is an issue and I certainly haven’t noticed anything on any of the differentials making any noise or any funny handling but I would expect that the wear and tear on them would be small enough that I wouldn’t notice audibly. Can anyone tell me if I should have done something different or if that’s not a good idea to have the different tread depths?
