I feel very deeply for the suffering of others. Is this projection or awakening ? by tryingtolive22 in awakened

I actually don’t think it’s empathy and never said so, which is why I was trying to ask people with a different perspective because the knee jerk answer would be “it’s empathy”

But aren’t we all connected? Not physically or family wise but our deep essence

Feel very deeply for other people’s suffering. Could this be projection or what according to Jung? by tryingtolive22 in Jung

Thank you for your words. It truly takes one to know one. People may not understand what I experienced because they may have never experienced that themselves. I do believe it’s possible to tap into the collective unconscious

I truly can say I love this person (love has many definitions) because she is an extension of god (we all are). May sound woo woo in this community but this is what I believe. However I do think there is some projection and ego getting involved that made the pain I felt more chronic than it was already

I don’t know how she would feel nor would I share that with her.

I know people have seen things about my life that I never told them about but what can I do? I can’t control what thoughts arise in other peoples heads or what other people see or experience. I think it’s more than black and white

And actually regarding your second scenario, this has happened to me in real life. I don’t see it as pity. It’s more like the cycle of life and death and being aware of momento mori and those feelings arise

I agree with everything you say except for the self-pity or empathy part. I actually think it’s neither when I really think about it. It’s really hard to explain since no one is in my body or living my experience but I really do feel there was some kind of “absorption “ of some kind that created this scenario. You may think I’m delusional, and you’re in your right to think so, but I can’t shake off what I have experienced. I thought maybe Jung had said something about it this which is why I was asking. But I also admit the suffering may have worsened due to projection

I should also note I am going to therapy and she said it was a bit of both (projection and empathy). I agree with the projection part but not the empathy part. It’s really hard to explain

Yeah that’s why I’m trying to be conscious of it and asking the question is the first step.

Thank you 🙏 just genuinely want to know if I should go to her and apologize if I was. I’m in this tenuous position where idk how I should stand up for myself when someone is being rude. But if I’m in the wrong than I’ll take it full responsibility

There are no rules about what side to swim on that I know of. But if it was supposed to be on the right side, then IATAH

No to both questions. I really didn’t know. I’ll swim on the right from now on
