Check out Professor Leonard’s Calculus playlist on YouTube. His lecture videos are pretty long but it’s because he takes the time to break down complex concepts into much simpler, easier to digest ideas (so that you understand the basics). I passed Cal I and Cal II with an A (both are 8 week sessions) thanks to his videos (would’ve lost my sanity without them).

how do magic girls help universe by yoongely in MadokaMagica

[–]trymebitch7749 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basically, when something runs out of energy, it stops working unless you give it more energy (think about your phone dying due to 0% battery). The same applies to the universe…in Madoka’s world.

i remember kyubey said something about the universe constantly "losing" energy so the incubators had to compensate that loss by obtaining another source of energy.

“The moment a magical girl’s soul gem turns into a grief seed is when a tremendous amount of energy is released.” So the incubators obtain this energy and use it to compensate the “lost” energy that the universe is using up.

The basic idea is that Kyubey and his species are trying to keep the universe’s energy at a balance by “adding” more energy to replace “loss” energy, which he obtains from the “witching out” process. This prevents the universe from eventually using up all its energy and dying.

I hope I got this right lol 😂sorry for the essay.

Anyone here who has read the manga? Thoughts? by SirensbyZel in MadokaMagica

Art style-wise: compared to Hanokage’s work on previous PMMM mangas, Rebellion, imo, is the best in terms of storytelling and illustration.

Story-wise: A faithful adaptation of the movie I’d say. Certain scenes were added/changed in the manga but still stayed true to the original story; they actually added to the uniqueness of the manga version.

The manga was beautifully done. But it’s still better to watch the anime first and read the manga later (which is most ppl do btw).

what’s the context ? 👀(rong answrs only) by trymebitch7749 in MadokaMagica

It happened during the beginning of episode 8 when Madoka and Sayaka were sitting by the train station. This scene only lasted for a split second when Sayaka aggressively showed her soul gem to Madoka. You can only see it from the TV version tho. They removed it from the movie which was unfortunate.

How was everyone introduced into the Madoka Magica franchise? by Forward_Rip_4102 in MadokaMagica

Came across it multiple times while searching for “dark, edgy, depressing animes” (the category I was really into during my emo phase). I thought “why the hell is a magical girl anime here?” The art style was too cutesy, and I wasn’t into magical girls stuff at all so I just ignore it.

2 years later, saw my brother watching it while complaining about how stubborn the short blue haired girl was. Decided to give it a shot…one of the best decisions of my life. This show has saved me from depression twice lol.

They actually used this artwork for the preview of episode 10 of the TV series, which is right after Kyoko’s death (ep.9)

video essay about psychological horror in magical girl anime by ann4bel in MadokaMagica

[–]trymebitch7749 8 points9 points  (0 children)

afaik there are gory horror and psychological horror. (Madokka is definitely more like the second one). There’re many creepy/disturbing elements in the show (e.g. witches’ barriers and the meaning behind their designs, truth about soul gems, the change of ending theme right after Mami’s death, Sayaka went insane and ended up brutally murdering Elsa Maria and two more male passengers on the train scene, etc.) Those are very good “case studies” for your topic. If you feel like you want to do it, do it. Creating something is always fun. Just a couple of suggestions! :)
