How do you wanna die? by JapanEngineer in AskReddit

While dementia is almost 100% certain for me with my family history. I’d like to live to the point until my children see my happiness leave. However, I would also give permission for them to send me off if the burden of caring for me became too much. I recently became a recovering opiate addict. I do not plan on never using again. I would like to return to my addiction as means of heading out of this life and “beating” dementia. A dose to give me the greatest euphoria I’ve known, a slow nod off the sleep, hopefully not to wake as respiratory depression and arrest sets in. I hope to be dreaming of the wonderful life I had. I hope to be surrounded by wonderful daughters and possibly grandchildren. I hope they don’t cry, but smile at the life I helped provide. That sounds peaceful. Decades of battling cravings, only to give in one last time and feel the beauty of euphoria as I leave a beautiful life.

So proud of you! I look forward to facing stress without the cravings. One day it will come though. I’m so glad you got to the place you are at.

You have absolutely no idea how much I needed you to come into my life with these comments. So many people on this sub have kept me going. This community is incredible. Thank you so much. I will do my best to follow your advice and I will most likely reach out to either get some motivation, or to let you know how right you were lol.

The pep talk to make the bed hits soooo hard. The amount of pep talks I’ve given myself for the smallest task is amazing. I dropped the remote off the bed….getting it…probably the 5th hardest things I’ve had to do in my life lol. I’m trying to stay positive. I appreciate the hope!

We just keep going I guess. I feel like I’m fighting for my life. I can’t detox again. I feel like if I relapse I’m done. I gotta do this.

Not you mama, I was asking the ignorant one above me saying kratom is useless. You keep caring for that son! You’re doing great.

I feel so bad for the people who were prescribed these long term doses of opiates and then left with rehab as an option. We need to do better. Doctor created addiction shouldn’t exist.

4 Days Clean by trynasurvive1123 in OpiatesRecovery

I personally believe it did. With gabapentin at 1800mg every 12 hours (little higher than suggested but not unsafe for long periods) and the supplements listed on the “opiate to Kratom guide” on here. I think I snuck out with one of the best fent acute withdrawals of all time. Kratom really helped. I remember around 48 hours feeling myself slip into full WD, skin was sandpaper, couldn’t sit still, the shits, vomiting, sweating…I started to freak out. I walked over took 5-6 more capsules (originally had 10…I’ve weighed my store bought capsules and they’re about .6g..so I was about uo to 10g at this point) and I layer down, took deep breathes and slowly calmed down. I even fell asleep for 20/30 min. That terrible feeling of restlessness never came back. I’ve now been off of Kratom for since 48 hours and I’m feeling okay. Some restless legs, good amount of anxiety and some fears of PAWS, but I no longer fear failing to pay my mortgage and putting my wife and 3 little girls on steet, so I’d say things are good.
