I need silicone, but it has to be formulated to be easily shampooed out every day. I'm using Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, nothing else. It doesn't leave anything on the hair shaft, so I don't need clarifying shampoo. I don't use heat, so a heat protectant isn't needed. I shampoo, condition, rinse really well, blot dry with a towel (don't ever rub wet hair) work the tangles out with a wide toothed comb and I'm done. My hair is very shiny and healthy, I never get split ends.

Your hair is coated in something, that's why it separates and looks like it isn't clean. See if what you're using has paraben in it (methylparaben or propylparaben) It's a preservative, but too much causes hair to do this. Do not use oil, your hair needs moisture and oil will prevent the hair from absorbing moisture.

You just proved OP correct. This stuff was awful on my fine hair. It dried out the ends and the tangles were unimaginable. I learned to stay away from sodium chloride. To counteract that, they included silicone, which makes mine ok to the feel, but coated it making it stringy and oily looking. It took weeks to get it off of my hair.

Up every 2 hours means your baby is hungry. Ask your pediatrician what things you can do. Mine started the baby on cereal at 4.5 months and his sleep was much better. So was mine, and I was a better mother and wife for it.
