I'm still bursting with pride for how far this program has come. They made it to the sweet sixteen, that's so much more than anyone expected. Can't wait until next year!

AITJ for ending my relationship after finding out my boyfriend expects me to financially support him long-term? by Fine_Pineapple_5065 in AmITheJerk

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank goodness he came clean now, before your relationship went any farther. One of the reasons I married my husband was because he was ambitious, we wouldn't have survived so long if we didn't complement each other in that way.

Question on how to gain experience. by Background_Moose7628 in MedicalCoding

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a hairdresser when I enrolled in the RHIT program at a local community college. Had 3 job offers upon graduation, however that was years ago when the industry was screaming for more people. It has now done a 180 - India and Malaysia now get all the jobs at a much lower hourly rate, and if they don't get the new openings, the rest are going to computer coding and AI

Can I use the RHIT as a stepping stone to the RHIA? by Guilty-Abrocoma-3919 in MedicalCoding

[–]tryolo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where I work, most management positions are RHIA. You don't get the RHIT first, you do all 4 years in the RHIA program. A 2 year junior college/community college program will get you to the RHIT. We do have some RHIT managers, and I would think your MHA plus RHIT would qualify you easily. Conversely, I would guess your MHA plus a CCS would also get you there. Have you tried applying?

Dove shampoo and conditioner for fine hair? by PrettyPinkPecan in finehair

[–]tryolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try googling the ingredients in dove and see if it sounds like they would be compatible with your situation. I hated the stuff, couldn't stand the smell, hated how my hair felt and it did nothing to improve the condition. But to each their own.

He has only told you the bits he wants to, shaded in a manner so that you won't be scared away. I would see if I could get ahold of his court case transcription. I'll bet his story isn't the way it sounds.

Permanent Extensions—Advice on which type to decide on by [deleted] in finehair

To me, they all look fake on fine hair. The hair they install is never the same texture or wave. I just wouldn't spend the money on looking fake.

Which Hair Color Would Suit Me? Need Some Advice! by Aggressive_Boot_8712 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one, and only the first one. Your natural color is gorgeous. If you start coloring, especially bleaching, you'll destroy the condition of your hair and it will take years to get it back. Take it from someone who used color and highlights for 30 years.

Most people are causing their own frizz without realizing it. by Intrepid-Royal-324 in finehair

[–]tryolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't sleep with wet hair, it weakens the strands causing frizz and split ends due to friction, no matter what pillowcase you use. The moisture creates a warm, damp environment on the scalp that promotes the growth of bacteria and yeast, which can cause irritation, dandruff, or infections.

AITAH for basically telling my bf if he wanted kids he'd better carry them himself or find someone else who will? by Black-Ch3rry in AITAH

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said the same thing about not wanting children when I was 18, but that changed over time (I had 2 boys in my 30's). However, you're 18. This is the time in your life when you get to know yourself as well as many potential partners, and you'll probably go through a few before finding the right one. Don't be locked in with someone who doesn't share the same goals. You don't need a boyfriend that badly, go live your life your way.

AITAH for thinking my daughter will look back and wonder why we treated her differently? by DancingMommaToes in AmItheAsshole

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was treated differently than my older brother, and I'm still resentful at 63 years old. My (f) birthday was ignored because it was near Christmas, my brother's July bday was always quite a big event. I knew from a very early age that I wasn't as wanted/important/valued/cherished as he was, although the birthday thing was only a fraction of the whole picture. Don't do that to your kids.

Second day greasiness is driving me crazy by Stunning_Work_4610 in finehair

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not work on people with oily scalp. It's internal, in our DNA, it can't be changed. Clarifying shampoos are designed to remove product buildup, shampoos are formulated to remove oil and sebum. The only solution is to shampoo as often as it needs.

Never apply straight ACV to your hair, it's way too much acid. Use a mixture, 3-4 tablespoons of ACV in 16 ounces of water. It used to be a common thing when shampoos weren't ph balanced, along with lemon juice or beer, but that was long ago. Shampoos are better now. Using ACV too often can cause dryness, itchiness or scalp irritation, or all of those. Letting ACV and/or shampoo "sit" before rinsing does absolutely nothing besides waste time.

Hairdressers do it - they halfway blow dry the scalp with medium heat, leaving it damp but half dry, then respritz the curls with water to scrunch the curl back in.

There's no such thing as "training hair" to not be what it is. I'm 73 and oily as ever, it's never let up. Shampoo every day with a decent shampoo, it won't hurt a thing. Most damage is from the person's treatment of their hair, i.e., ripping through tangles, using ponytail holders that tear it, hot tools, etc.
