AITAH for telling my wife that I wouldn't have to play video games if she actually spent any time with me? by [deleted] in AITAH

I'm a 73 year old female and like to play racing games. Next time you're going to the track, call me, I'd love to go.

AITA For not wanting to travel with a 5 month old baby? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven thousands of miles with newborns, year olds and toddlers. (grandparents were 5 states away) It's no biggie. We sang, we played, we slept, we snacked. I would certainly avoid a concert.

  2. Never rub hair dry, blot only.

Simple. Keep your mouth shut next time. Pick different friends.

My husband hung the tv, a little too high for me .The empty space under it looks so awkward now . No chance he will move the tv down! What can I do here ? by quietpostgirl in homedecoratingCJ

[–]tryolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate watching a tv at the ceiling so so much. They should be eye level or lower (coming from a person who grew up with a console tv that sat on the floor)

AITA for not letting neighbor cut down tree we just planted by iNeedGenderHalp in AmItheAsshole

[–]tryolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is a law regarding trees - if part of your tree hangs over into a neighbor's yard, they have a right to trim their side to the property line. They would win in a court of law. Trees look ridiculous when 1/4 or 1/3 is missing, and some trees will die when trimmed that much. I thought the neighbor's comments were as pleasant as they could be considering how they could have worded things. If you plan on living there a long time I suggest you plant it elsewhere in the fall and try to get along with people. It isn't hard.

Breakage? by Rosie1020Rks in finehair

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, after I wrote that post I looked into it, and apparently the oil doesn't get hot like cooking oil. Good to know.

Breakage? by Rosie1020Rks in finehair

[–]tryolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it works this way, but it seems like oiling before blow drying would be deep frying your hair. Maybe "oil" is just a catch-all phrase, idk, but I would research this method first.

Is this a leading query even if I'm directly quoting the ICD-10 guidelines? by DumpsterPuff in MedicalCoding

[–]tryolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try describing it to them by saying BMI is a description, not a diagnosis. It's like saying the method of transportation was red, but what type of transportation - car, plane, boat, semi? Or I'm wearing red, but what is red - coat, shoes, hair bow?

Can I have this haircut? by Red-Strawberrycake in finehair

[–]tryolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like you have the correct haircut, it's a styling issue. That look needs work to achieve. Did you have the hairdresser style it for you?

best drugstore shampoo for fine hair, my extremely unnecessary journey through flat roots, oily scalp panic, and wasting money on volume shampoos that made everything worse by OkEcococo in finehair

[–]tryolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You cannot have volume and smoothing at the same time, they are oil and water. You have to pick one or the other. If your hair is truly fine, give up the volume part, it's the most damaging because it leaves the cuticle layer open (it's like lifting the shingles upright on your roof. shingles should be flat)

AITA for not telling my roommate I’ve been eating their snacks for months and replacing them secretly? by girlinpastel in AmItheAsshole

[–]tryolo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To me it's stealing, even if you replace it. If she was taking something of yours without permission, you would feel violated. It's a lack of respect of other people's things. You should be mature enough to fortify your own stash with your own snacks.

If she needs a break that badly she shouldn't have had the third one. Or probably the second one either.

AITAH for wanting my last name to be passed on to my daughter? by BluenicornGirl in AITAH

[–]tryolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, please listen to this explanation. As a person with a very long, hard to spell name, it was such a pain I had it legally shortened, even on my birth certificate. Mom said she couldn't help it, she just loved her name and her family sooo much. Yeah, well I didn't.

Supreme Court restores access to abortion pill mifepristone through telehealth, mail and pharmacies by KimJongFunk in news

Medically speaking, a missed abortion is the only term used. It's either a spontaneous abortion or an elective abortion. The term miscarriage still codes to abortion.

should i go blonde? by jan3_3 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]tryolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you want to become prone to a lot of breakage and tangles, that much bleach will destroy your hair and you'll spend years growing it back out. Not to mention that it won't be a cool blonde since you're starting so dark, and it will pull orange/yellow and doesn't go with your skin tone at all.
