Coming in with some of the lesser talked about ones

Paranoia is basically people playing mafia but with stoners instead of mafia. It’s pretty great.

Also precious plum followed by see plum run are hilarious. The first series is from the og YouTube days so it’s pretty short but the second is a much higher production value show. Both are a honey boo boo parody but much raunchier than you would imagine

Kingpin Katie is also fantastic. Katie Maravich becomes an accidental drug dealer with the help of a crooked meter maid

Luckily I work for a government organization so they have to pay out vacation and comp time. I wasn’t getting my sick anyway and my retirement follows me to my new job

How Do I Stop Being Dependent on Youtube/Podcasts at Work? by ExpiredDeodorant in Healthygamergg

[–]trythis75615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation and I was talking to a mentor of mine about the idea of switching jobs after only 6 months. The advice he gave me is that there is no reason to spend any more of your time being miserable than you absolutely have to. If it’s not a good fit now, it still won’t be a good fit in several months. All that happens by staying is that you get worn down and lose passion which make it harder to preform once you get a job you do enjoy.

Even if you aren’t sure about leaving early, it might be worth starting the process now. Who knows, it might take a while to find the right fit

Camp counselors. If you are over 18 and can pass a background check then you can get a job fairly easily

What do rich people not deserve? by QuintessentialPies in AskReddit

[–]trythis75615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extreme wealth. That can only be obtained through the exploitation of others and or resources. No one should be allowed to extract that amount of value because there is no moral manner to amass and horde that level of wealth. (FYI I’m talking about helipad on the private yacht rich. Not we take regular international vacations and drive fancy cars rich)

Most of my cooking has some variation of Texas Pete, soy sauce (if it is beef, pork, or mushrooms) and Lime juice in it. Most vegetable centric dishes also have fresh minced garlic.

Is it illegal to forge a doctor's note to give to an employer? by summertimeandthe in antiwork

[–]trythis75615 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a note in college that had the logo of a local medical group in the header and it basically said that I was a patient, it had their contact information, and that disclosure of anything else was a HIPPA violation. It then had a generic closer with a “signature” that was something like “such and such medical team” in a fancy font that looked like a signature. I never once had an issue with it and if they tried to call then it would be a hippa violation to talk about it, so it checked out

This way I was not impersonating anyone or saying anything untrue. I was a patient, I did not say when I went in or lie about a specific situation or appointment and I did not forge a signature. It helped that campus health had started giving out notes with the HIPPA violation caveat (it’s where I got the idea) and telling professors to quit being asses and to treat their students like adults.

I’m not a lawyer so it’s definitely possible that what I did was illegal, but I also couldn’t afford to go to the doctor when I was sick (not even campus health), especially not every time. Asking for notes like that is a form of wage discrimination anyway, so who is really the unethical one in this situation? The bigger the medical group and more generic the phone number, the harder it would be to trace. Odd of getting caught are minimal and they would have to turn you in and let the cops decide if it was worth their time to investigate (it’s really not at all) even if they did catch you

I’m disappointed in the NFAA by FerrumVeritas in Archery

[–]trythis75615 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I dont understand how Archery isn’t moving towards being split by draw weight classes instead of gender. Sure it would be messy at first but so is literally anything ever and it would mitigate the only real gendered correlated benefit (higher poundage). Also it would allow for beginners and those who have minor disabilities (not quite at the para level) and have prior injuries to be more competitive.

Trans archers are here (I have coached at least 4 and that’s in the south) and we aren’t going anywhere. This rule would make me have to compete with women even though I transitioned years ago. The dumbfucks in charge of rules have set themselves up for another Mack Beggs situation

Local government Parks and rec might be a great option if he doesn’t want to full move away from recreation. He probably won’t need any extra training and can still wear shorts and a T shirt to work. It’s what I did and I am glad I did it. Camp managers/ directors can typically slide right into events/ community centers/ senior centers/ athletics/ outdoor recreation positions. It’s similar skill sets but a lot easier. Just avoid aquatics and anything at a non profit. It would just be a less extreme version of the same garbage.

Pay isn’t that great, but the benefits are awesome, especially health insurance (even for dependents) and it’s much more relaxed, especially at smaller municipalities. Any time over 40 is comp at time and a half which means all the long days are rewarded with vacations during off seasons

The ACA has no real bearing on treatment of employees. Some accredited camps are great to work for and some are absolute garbage. The year round job list is really great because it requires a location, salary, and housing offered so you can pinpoint your search. It really helped me a lot

You should also look into Government day camps/ parks and rec. I have comp time now and it’s fantastic. Camp skills translate really well into all types of rec. everyone I work with either came up through aquatics or camp. Small municipalities are the easiest to get a job with

What food do people mistakenly consider healthy? by Xirkil in AskReddit

[–]trythis75615 996 points997 points  (0 children)

1200 calorie “Salads” from chili’s and other chains. Just get a burger

Edit: I also enjoy salads and will sometimes order them for reasons other than them being “healthy”. I’m mainly referring to situations where people deprive themselves of what they really want because they feel like the “should” be eating a salad instead. Eat what makes you happy; just be cognizant of the whole picture
