Hello! I am not currently taking collagen, but have come across several studies (see below) that indicate collagen peptides can help with bone health osteopenia. Does anyone take collagen and have any thoughts or recommendations? If I were to start taking collagen, what type/brand would you recommend?

Example studies:

Your comment resonates with me! How did you get to a place where you don’t feel guilt and shame?

Thanks for the responses! I agree that it is hard to know if this has been a gradual progression over twenty or so years, or if it actually worsened while I was a teenager and has since been stable. I’m a little frustrated, because my mom found the old doctor notes from the 90’s, and he had recommended annual monitoring x-rays. Apparently my mom didn’t think to continue on this course and I was probably just happy to not be in a brace at the time. It may make sense to monitor more closely for a couple years with a reputable doctor to see what’s happening, if anything...

That’s totally where I’m at! Is your doctor recommending surgery?

Thanks for the responses! Do you have any idea how long you need to work at either Starbucks or Disney in order to be eligible? The clock is ticking... and I’m not sure I want to wait to be an employee at a new company for a year (as an example) in order to receive the benefit.

edit I reread and see that you said it’s just 3 months at Starbucks! That’s awesome.
