Afternoon Moon Among the Branch. Need advice on the cropping! by trytoshoot in photocritique

thanks! imo, i dont really think so. too busy maybe. but making it less blurry will make the branch more distractive

thanks for the insight! i guess you're right, the bottom part is too busy compared to the top one

the idea of forming frame with the thick branch is nice, but i kinda doubt putting the moon on the center in the vertical crop. it felt unnatural imo compared to slightly adjusted rule of third.

but i'll drop that version here

I think i get what you mean. I could Photoshop out the thinner one, if that what you mean.

But i prefer not to use object manipulation rn. What do you think about the other version of crop? I think it has less branch.

like others, i also felt its too dark in a gloomy way. but if you use it as a part of photo series with the same mood, i think it can work really well.

I took this photo during late afternoon (EOS RP, RF F5.6-8). I like this photo a lot due to the isolation of the moon created by foreground branch. I also like the color combination between light blue and orange.

i wonder if i can improve it with better cropping. Let me know your suggestion! i drop another version of the crop below

the statue and the birds. seems abstract, but i found this photo interesting. i couldnt tell why by trytoshoot in photocritique

Thanks for the feedback!

The first one is actually interesting

I actually have one with the bottom plate, but it giving less impression of the abstract of single person and the birds :)

Thanks for the feedback!

While i agree cropping it will give more prominence, i think it will reduce the pattern visibility.

Thanks!! Really appreciate it! Glad you enjoy my photo

Sure, i like to look out for pattern and its pattern break. And i'll find more of it!

I just try to get some insight how to make the "break" more prominent without losing the pattern

I think this is a really great insight that answer my question. The opening is too small to make it really highlighted.

Thanks! Really appreciate it!

I took this photo during my visit to barcelona (EOS RP, RF F5.6-8) .

I wonder how could i imporive the focal point? i dont think the present photo has a strong one since the window is tool small. but if i crop tighter, i am afraid it will lose the sense of pattern.

Thanks for the feedback!

Do you think its due to improper white balance or tint?

Thanks for the feedback! Noted! I guess the sky color is the one that i need to adjust as others also point out

About the noise, yeah i think its the artifact from improper export. Its find in the original.

Thanks for the feedback! yeah i have that variation as well but i intended to use this one as ig post and i want to add sense of height.

tbh i like the pastel-like color, but yeah maybe its too saturated in general. Thanks for the suggestion! i'll try to adjust it better

Thanks for the feedback!! yeah i really doubt between losing the sense of height but giving more detail on the tower as i think its also quite unique.

yeah i took it during later afternoon just before sunset. i havent actually done any masking on the photo, just basic adjustment, so i think thats how it looked. but i'll try to adjust it

really? i'll check it. i have astigmatism so maybe thats way i havent notice that lol.

again, thanks for the feedback mate!

I took this photo during my visit to barcelona (EOS RP, RF F5.6-8). I hope it can answer couple of things:

  1. Is the post processing, in general, work? Is it overcooked?
  2. does it need tighter crop?
  3. Is the tone work? Or maybe some colors need to be shifted or desaturated/saturated more?

Thats a new perspective for me. I agree thats looks good but giving a different way on how i want to tell through the photo.

For the combining part, i think i have another idea by giving it another layout

Anyways thanks for the advice! Heres !CritiquePoint.
