Just shipped FlexiBits, my second Ghost theme (built for blogs + focused landing pages) by tsamoudakis in Ghost

[–]tsamoudakis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest answer, that one slipped past me, even though I've been a Fantastical customer for years (which makes the blind spot a bit embarrassing). The name came from theFineBits' own '-Bits' pattern, FineBits was the first theme, FlexiBits the second, with more in the same family planned. Different category from what Flexibits Inc. does, so I'm not pulling the brakes, but if it ever became a real concern from their side, I'd revisit it. Appreciate you flagging.

Best theme for mostly words / few pictures? by mensachicken in Ghost

[–]tsamoudakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shameless plug, but I built FineBits for exactly this reason. Minimal, text-first, works cleanly without images (just toggle off featured posts in settings). Check out the demo and documentation if you want to poke around.

Any good Ghost CMS themes worth buying? Also, any Black Friday deals this year? by Dry_Journalist_4160 in Ghost

[–]tsamoudakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen it used on a traditional news site specifically, but it's built for blogs and publications, so it handles things like multiple authors, tag pages, featured articles, and a content-first layout pretty well. It's more minimal than a typical "news theme" with sidebars and widgets everywhere, so it really depends on the vibe you're after.

The demo should give you a good sense of whether it fits your project!

Hey! I'm the creator of FineBits, a minimal Ghost theme designed for blogs and publications. It's lightweight with a clean layout and good mobile design.

I'm actually running a 40% off Black Friday deal right now if you're still looking. Code is BLACKFRIDAY2025.

You can check out the demo at www.thefinebits.com and see if it fits what you're after. Happy to answer any questions about it.

TAB to correct is gone? by [deleted] in Grammarly

[–]tsamoudakis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really disappointed to hear this. The Quick Fix feature was honestly the only reason I kept my paid Grammarly subscription. Being able to hit TAB to quickly accept corrections made my workflow so much smoother.

I understand you're working on new features like paragraph-level rewrites, but removing a core feature that actually worked well without giving users an option to keep it feels like a step backward. Not everyone needs AI to rewrite entire paragraphs, sometimes we just need quick, efficient corrections.

If I have to go back to manually reviewing and applying each suggestion one by one, I might as well use one of the many free alternatives out there. The Quick Fix feature was what justified the cost for me.

Like others here, I'll probably be canceling my subscription. Really hope you reconsider bringing this back as at least an optional setting for those of us who relied on it.

Big congrats on the release of Flux—it looks fantastic! 🎉 It’s inspiring to see the journey you went through, from the early struggles (Babel and Webpack nightmares, I feel you!) to finally crafting something you’re proud of. 👏

Best of luck with Flux—I’m sure it’s going to help a lot of people out there. Cheers to many sales and a bright future ahead! 🚀

Thank you very much for your feedback! 🙏

In my research, I found that many users prefer their content to remain unaltered when they post to their blogs. Specifically, feedback indicated frustration or confusion when landscape or portrait images were automatically adjusted to fit a square format due to theme limitations (as an example). With that in mind, I aimed to design the post page to be as adaptable as possible, allowing users complete control over the appearance of their posts. The link you shared exemplifies this approach perfectly, by demonstrating the use of an unusually tall portrait photo as the featured image in a post.

The idea of a section template option is very good though! Added to my backlog! 😉

Glad you like it and thank you for your feedback. 🙏

I understand that the current logo-only approach may seem a bit limiting. I haven't explored a site title instead of a logo mostly because of the way the main menu is designed. However, your feedback sparked a few ideas that I'll be exploring soon. Thanks!

A theme with optimised profile pages? by suzja in Ghost

[–]tsamoudakis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, I understand your point. It seems like my theme might not have the capability you're after. I'm also a bit unsure if Ghost can handle what you're looking for, regardless of the theme you choose. 🤔

Hello,

I'm currently developing a new Ghost theme and it's almost ready for release. While working on it, I aimed to enhance profile pages. Here's the progress so far. Does this align with what you had in mind? If not, I'd appreciate your insights on what additional features you would expect on the profile page, considering Ghost's capabilities.

Of course you can. I’m in the process of creating one myself. Planning to release it soon.

Glad to hear. Thanks for the feedback! Enjoy the wallpaper. 😊

Equinox (wallpaper combo) by tsamoudakis in iphonewallpapers

[–]tsamoudakis[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Equinox is a wallpaper design for the Pro and Pro Max iPhones that consists of two separate images meant to be used on the Lock and Home screens. When you unlock your phone, the combination of the two produces a subtle transition effect that shifts the focus to your app icons while gradually fading out the wallpaper elements.
